America's best selling truck is?

According to this from Jan 2008 it was supposed to be out summer 2009.

Nevermind this article said they cancelled the plans for a Tundra Diesel

Ron you have answered your own question and now you rebukked your own statement all in one page of the same thread using actual facts… you need to just logoff for the day.

My dad and myself both bought new silverados in June.Glad I could help out that #.Trying to get my buddy to trade in his clunker 85 4X4 and get the clunker allowance

Or maybe we just don’t care as all of us know what kind of content is going to be inside of a BigRon thread. American car manufacturers make great trucks. “Import” companies make great cars. Nice BMW avatar btw.

How many of those truck sales were in East county San Diego? Just curious.

I have seen a couple of these on the road and they are huge.

Too bad GM is killing them

The article fails to mention that Toyota stopped production of the Tundras for 4 months and that 09’s were only made for ~4 months. They are allocating about 3 to dealerships. We have one, Northtown I think has 3.

Must be nice when you have trucks to sell and a lot dedicated to them. Ahem, Paddock.

Why did they stop production?
Lack of demand/supplies/plant change over/etc? or was this from when they shut it down last summer because gas was expensive and they thought people were going to stop buying trucks?

DING!!!

probably because we don’t care about trucks because we don’t drive them? some of you take brand loyalty way too far

yayyy to chevy taking over the lead… i love my silverado

He Dip… they haven’t made them since 2006. Not even close to being the same truck

Didn’t GM pull the plug on that big black truck? Judging by the NYS Dot trucks, GM is getting killed by ford in that oversized work truck market. See them big F-650 or what nots all over.

As far as the GM HD trucks…its hard to find a 2500HD with tow package and no amenities. They seem to all be fully loaded Crew Cabs.

I just want a GMC Sierra 1500 with tow package, V8, no Cadillac loaded style, why is that so hard to find.

Because too many people buy trucks who dont use them. Why would I want to buy a 1500 crew cab with a ~5.5’ bed?

The PRO to buying a tundra at 45k vs a gm at 28k is the resale value (unless said gm is a diesel). But I dont know that all the extra money is actually worth that. I plan on running my tundra until it completely dies, or rusts out. If Toyota has their HD Tundra then, I may consider that. Otherwise, I will be buying a GM / Ford 3/4 ton. Although I am also intrigued by the 1/2 ton diesel possibilities, depending on capabilities.

In the same post I said GM is killing them.
GM tried to sell the Medium Duty truck line and now decided to kill it.

oh my bad, quick skimmed it.

shit. that looks like a chopped up tractor trailer lol. a bit excessive?

^it was designed for commercial use first, then Transformers happened…i think.

kodiak 4500 always had a truck bed version, but typically it had duals on the back
