Recent dyno tests are confirming that the S/C Coyote has around 460-470 hp at the rear wheels,
seems like Ford Australia is grossly understating the power levels to keep GT under the radar…

I love the Australian GM and Fords.

Americans love their FWD econoboxes…

how sweet would that be to compete with the G8

Those lucky foreigners.

It’d be awesome, it’s like 4-door mustang.

I’d drive one. I’ve always had a thing for the G8, and this reminds me of it.

Aussies and their freaking kilowatts.

A few years ago there was a thread on the GTO boards about the Falcon and Commodores. The Falcon’s in the Gulf orange and blue are really cool. The thing that keeps them from importing them is the fact that they would have to sell for $70K. Not too many Americans want a $70K sedan with a manual gearbox and technology that is simple to say the least. Then there is the styling. I love understated fly under the radar cars, but, it would be the EXACT same shit people said about the 04-06 GTO’s-the styling is bland, it looks too generic, etc etc. I do LOVE watching them race in the V8 Supercar Seris-Bathurst is one of the coolest tracks.

I certainly do not have that kind of money to put into a car but after having this VW my next car will be simple. I really can’t stand having computers second guessing EVERYTHING I do and it is annoying. That still does not change the fact that I LOVE the styling, and would LOVE to buy a car with brutal power and simplicity.

The 04-06 GTO was an austrialian platform, it was only mid 30k’s, it also had IRS, basically more technology then some of US’s sports cars (mustang, f-bodys) at that time. The G8 was also the commodore platform, so I don’t think they would have to sell them for 70k. The GTO was kinda plain, but if they just brought the cars back how they normally looked and just replaced badges then it would be less boring IMO.

the ford FPV vehicles are really expensive. At least they were a couple years ago when i looked.

Yeah, but the cheaper models are still more interesting then half of what we get lol. I say bring them over, hell I wouldn’t mind driving a Holden, I like the Lion badge!

This is just a concept i believe, but I think it is badass! Comes with the LS7 i believe

That Coupe 60 looks awesome.

Ford’s “One Ford” strategy had the introduction of the Falcon on these shores as one of the goals, but it was reported that after the “failure” of the GTO they shelved the idea.

I would seriously hope after the G8 they’d reconsider, especially with how successful the importing of the Transit, Fiesta, and new Focus is. Chrysler proved there’s a market for big RWD mainstream sedans.

This also has been on the GTO boards since I was on there back in 06. It was rumored to be coming to the states, etc etc. It will never see the light of day. Or, it will look amazing like it does as a concept and then get royally ugly when produced, just like the CTS Coupe
