Well, I sold my Neon, so of course I had to buy something else. This:
(Sorry for the pic quality…I didn’t take them!)
This time I picked up a 1976 Thiokol (pronounced ty-call) 2100C. I needed something more mud tolerant than my ‘67 Tucker for my maple syrup operation. I had been looking for a machine like this for awhile, but nothing was cheap or close. This one is in Cobleskill and I won it on Ebay for $1706. Score. The next cheapest one I’ve seen was $4500 and it was in worse shape. This one runs and drives but it has 2 flat tires and the front blade frame is pretty mangled. I’ll just fix the tires for this year and deal with the metalwork when the weather is good. The machines weighs almost 10,000 lbs dressed and is 12’5" wide with the tracks on it. The front blade (not pictured) is 14’ wide. It should work out awesome for me. We used to have one of these at work so I know them inside out and backwards so at least there’s nothing on it I can’t fix.
This is a pic of my Tucker in case you don’t know what one is:
