lol really though, there are many arguments against the true displacement of a rotary compared to the conventional piston engine. To me, I pop the hood and see half an engine in the bay so it’s pretty cut and dry from that perspective… until I rev it out to 10k and think well this isn’t normal at all. i try to be mellow, i only get into it when i have the energy and/or i’m pissed off and just need a subject to bash on. But thats not very often… it’s entertaining to see people argue online, but thats really all it should be. He would beat you in a straight line… you know this, and don’t care… and you say you are a good driver and like to race on road courses. Which he may or may not like to do. So you both built/bought/whatever cars for the purpose of fulfilling whatever your goal was/is. I just like chillin w/ people that are into their cars. I might bust balls or joke around, but if your into your car… and you try to do is tastefully than more power to ya. Plus my car is almost past the point i wanted to be at… now its like, take the turbo off and get traction again… or throw a 42R on it and trailer it to the track on weekends. Man swifty, I only really talked shit to that kid because he really dissed the RX-8 in general when I know for a fact he’s never sat behind the wheel of one. Yeah I took it far, because I was/am willing to make a point of it. I respect the fact that he’s into cars, but I will also call him out knowing he has the advantage in acceleration over me because I know I can compensate with actual driving skill and sheer chassis performance. It’s stupid to fight over the internet, which is why I was really mellow and neutral in this whole bob vs. travis argument to begin with… but to see the ignorant comments come out of this kids mouth ( especially when he was so nice to me in person ) really pissed me off. It’s no big deal tho, it is what it is.
You really are at the point of no return, you either tone it down or you go all out… I don’t know your financial situation so I can’t comment on what I would do. It’s all about how you can get the most enjoyment out of your car.

yah my car should be fixed by late tomorrow night, don’t expect me until like… 11 or later. Financially i could save… and make it a project for next year, this year i’m just gonna get a few more things done, catch can, DR’s, traction bars, and coilovers… so i can run slicks. We’ll see though, right now i’m just trying not to drive it as fast as often as i use to, cause eventually my luck will run out. And no i’m not drunk, i only had ok well i had 4 drinks but i’m not drunk yet.

Good point about displacement. Isn’t it factored by two pretty much, given the fact that a rotary completes more combustion strokes per revolution than a piston engine…
