i ran a cafax and 0 accidents and 2/3 owners. states his uncle owned it since new and has a bunch of receipts from bmw including a rebuilt engine 25k miles ago.
I think that if the price is right, the good out weighs the bad.
gay intakes (or whatever that is) can be easily removed
shitty wheels can be refinished or replaced
yellow high beams can be replaced (just dont buy from DDM, theyre cock suckers)
it comes with the stock ds1s too. he states the headlights are glass, power adjustable bosch. the price is definitely decent if everything checks out.
make sure the cooling system has been updated. thats a big thing in E36M. and if is has been, check the thermostat housing. a lot of people use a plastic housing cause its cheap, but then it cracks
i downloaded the edge motorworks checklist, and other stuff from bimmerforums and watched these vids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4s-1TeNsjA&feature=related
hahaah then it sounds like youre good to go. Let us know how it turns out irl
these cars are so foreign to me it’s kind of scary. if it was a honda with that many miles i wouldnt be as concerned.
hahaha if you need a hand with anything, let me know. me and all my friends are exclusively into BMW
E36s are easy peasy. like legos!
The alum ones leak from being pitted along the mating face. Dealers still use the plastic ones, just dont let them go 10 years worth of heat cycles without replacing.
Powersteering will be leaking, front suspension will need some sort of love in the form of joints or bushings, check rear shock towers and mounts for health, guibo for cracks, blah blah. It’s pretty easy to come up with a list for any E36 and start knocking dollars off the asking price.
^guy has no idea what he is talking about
