'95 M3 Coupe Dinan Supercharged

Updated ad with current price, miles and issues

I’m going to do my best to put all issues out on the table with this car so there are no surprises if anyone is interested as it is rough around the edges. A little history on the car first, I bought this from a sketchy liar in Buffalo around April 2012. He claimed it was “the cleanest car he ever laid eyes on” which was a funny joke seeing as it was obvious that it was hit in the passenger side front. Anyway i bought it knowing the issues it had. I drove the car daily as well as over ten trips between Rochester and Washington DC constantly fighting an overheating issue (which i tried to convince myself was just due to the extra heat from the supercharger). In November 2012 I bought an S10 Blazer as a winter bomb and parked the M3 at my house with the intent of pulling the motor and swapping an LS1. Well the trans went out on the Blazer new years day and it proved to be easier to fix the head gasket in the M to drive back to DC than to get and install a trans for the Blazer.

I have driven the car ~3k since the replacement without any overheating or issues, including driving from Rochester to DC as well as in the ridiculous stop and go traffic in DC. Sorry for that huge ramble, anyway on to the facts about the car!

Known Issues:
-Car was hit in the passenger side fender, the hood and fender are not original and are poorly color matched.

-VANOS is basically gone.

-RTABS are bad.

-The headlight wiring is god awful, someone attempted to put HIDs in and just butchered everything. Low beams work, as well as turn signals, no high beams or fog lights.

-The A/C has all the components there but never worked, has a broken high pressure switch, I never got around to fixing it so i just pulled the belt as well as lines from the firewall to make getting the exhaust manifolds off easier. I have all components. The heat cranks.

-The condenser is bent from previous owners accident.

-Aux fan is wired to a switch because it didn’t turn on with the A/C button.

-Someone attempted to roll the fenders and did a heinous job, the fronts are uneven and have some cracking paint.

-The body has character, a few small dents and imperfect paint but doesn’t look bad from 15 feet.

-Door panels are separated (just like every e36 ever).

-When i did the head gasket two of three studs broke on the 4-6 exhaust manifold, i didn’t have time to fix this so as of right now there is only one nut holding the manifold to the cat back (very very small leak, hardly noticeable).

-The clip on the main vacuum line under the intake manifold broke during the head gasket and i didn’t have time to get a new one so that is zip tied as of right now.

-Drivers airbag is not hooked up (airbag light on) because the steering wheel is out of a 92 sedan so the plug doesn’t match. When i bought the car it had a terrible pep boys steering wheel.

-Grills fit funny, kind of loose for some reason.

-The center inlet in the front bumper is missing the mesh cover.

-Not really an issue, but the springs and struts are out of a 92 sedan, hence the switch to control arm mounted sway bar links.

I believe this is all issues, big or small. The majority of things wrong with the car are stupid little things that the previous hack of an owner did that don’t really affect drive ability. If I think of anything else I will edit accordingly.

Asking $6000

I feel that this is very fair given the current issues considering that a clean Supercharged E36 M3 will bring well over $10k all day. I have put a lot of time and money into this car and have receipts for the majority of work I have done.

I also have an extra set of winter wheels for the car:

16" Contour Reps: $600
-Studded Pirelli Carver snows (205/50r16)
-BMW center caps
-Great condition

ughh. want. glws.

Try throwing it up on bimmerforums too

This is priced to sell. I wish I could justify buying another m3. GLWS

This is really a steal. Alex and myself have maintained this car quite well since he purchased. We have taken care of all the small issues we found during his ownership. Him and I did the head gasket together, and it turned out absolutely perfect, complete night and day difference. This car pulls hard, trans shifts like butter. If you want an M3, look no further

Anyone interested can also contact me via text, 716-319-4851. I know this car inside and out. Alex is a stand up guy, easy to work with and up front and honest about everything. GLWS Bud!

UGH must resist.

Do you have history records?
Is the title clean or salvaged?
Did you figure out what caused the overheat?
How are the RTABS? Have these been replaced?
How are the RSM? Have these been replaced?
How is the Flex Disk and CSB?
Are you fixing the broken manifold bolts?
Are you fixing the hacked headlight wiring prior sale?
Was the Vanos replaced?

-No service records (as far as I know) unfortunetly
-Clean title
-Over heating issue was caused by combustion gases leaking into the cooling jackets. Previous owner installed a MLS gasket with OE studs, which eventually caused the gasket to blow and gases escaping. The head was decked .004", only took one cut.
-RTABS were checked prior to his purchase of the vehicle. They were good then, haven’t checked since. No rear end noises/clunks have been occuring.
-The rear shock mounts are in good shape, just replaced the rear shocks with my Bilsteins, no cracks/tears were present.
-Guibo and flex disc are in good shape.
-The manifold bolts will be fixed prior to sale, along with the head lamp wiring.
-VANOS has not been replaced. If it’s a make or break on the sale, it can be addressed. Has minor VANOS rattle/noise on start up, but dissipates after oil pressure reaches the cylinder head.

free bump for you … ugh looks so good on the Keskin 5 spokes

love those wheels…

^et15, I don’t think those would fit. plus only a few 16’s clear e36m3 brakes

Thank you all for the positive feedback on the car, and most of all thanks to Anthony (AShort) for your input. Anthony has just as many hours of time under the hood of the car as I do and can answer any questions if I can’t be reached.

Slight update, a few days ago the drivers front caliper locked up, so now it has a new caliper. Also I will be driving the car back to Rochester this weekend in case anyone is interested in taking a look.

Did you buy it from the guy with the chevy 350 swapped E36 painted with horrible white house paint?

Lol Why yes as a matter of fact that is the guy…thankfully my car has not been painted with house paint though.

Bump, $8000 as the RTABs are on their way out, taking offers need to sell, I’ll be relocating to another Marine Corps base soon and I can’t take this with me unfortunately.

Also Interior Pics:

As the car sits with the studded snows on it:

Awesome car, glws!

Bump for a final price drop…$7000 FIRM FIRM FIRM…I WILL NOT TAKE A SHILLING LESS

Unfortunately I have quickly ran out of time to sell my M3 before I get reassigned duty stations. The USMC is giving me a seriously huge boner in the ass and I have basically until the end of this month to sell it before it gets put away in my parents garage for the next two years. So here’s the deal, the car will be sold as is with either the DS1’s with OK summer tires or the 16" Contour reps with almost new Pirelli studded snows on it. If I have time this weekend between packing and seeing my family I will at least do my best to fix the exhaust manifold but there’s no guarantee.

If anyone is interested give me a text or call anytime this weekend as I’ll be in the Rochester and Buffalo area. I would much rather sell the car than let it collect dust in storage for two years but as my post states I am non negotiable on the new price in the slightest.

Thanks! Hopefully someone else enjoys it as much as I have!

GLWS. Wish I had 7k to buy it.

Also, soounds cheesy, but thank you for you service. Good luck at your next station.

One final bump before this gets parted out, $6000 so my parents don’t have to stare at it for months in their garage while it’s being parted out. Somebody give this thing the attention I don’t have the time to. Text me if interested (585)490-1307.

Thanks for the kind words Paul B!

6k? That’s a damn good price if you ask me.

Did it get parted?
