Any Fire Fighters?

any members of the board fire fighters? I just recently applied locally and was accepted. get all my gear and stuff tomorrow.

Just curious if anyone else here is.

I am. Have been since 1999. I’m assuming sewickly? How long until you start essentials?

yes sewickley. I’m not sure. probably asap. just need to talk to the chief and see when its available.

I’m assuming you will have to go to ACFA in North park.

Here is the current schedule. Things have changed since I stated. When I started it was an 11 week course 88 hours total just for essentials.

Just please don’t be a whacker and carry 13 pagers, 4 minitors, have 18 sets of blue lights and look like SloShelby.

yea thats where i have to go. I would like to get it all done (everyday) like that schedule but our chief said they have is every saturday too. But it doesn’t look like that is on the schedule. Every saturday may take longer to compelte the course but it would work so much easier with my schedule

They don’t have an every day class, they only have saturday classes and it is usually 8 hours a day.

oh my bad.

wtf? lol

I remeber there was a kid in high school that seriously had about 5 pagers and 1 minitor on him at all times.

All I ever used was a minitors on vibrate and a visor light for christ sake

Shit when I took it it was only 40 hours good lluck in class

They keep raising and raising and raising the hours i swear every day.

TC 166 on this board, i believe thats his name on here, is Lt. for harmar fire and rescue, he hardly ever is on this site, but ill try and get him to chime in for ya

I once helped put out the fire that Shaggy had in his pants.

how does your mouth feel now?

Congratulations Ryan  made sewickleys finest and have my dads old gear  weird or just ironic

Like sewickley needs new gear anyway :rofl: rarely fires :rofl:

Congratulations my friend, tough too get into.

thanks!

i hear sewickley might get velvet gear next month and gold plated trucks

:bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

suede interior and carbon fiber air tanks :kekegay:

We already have carbon tanks, that was so 2000.

Seriously, do they still use steel tanks?

no idea

I’d say 90% of volunteer firefighters I’ve met are…a little weird.

I think 5 - 10% that i know are convicted arsonists :dunno:

Best of luck!
