Any "quick fixes" for a slipping supercharger belt?

haha, john’s got the funniez today.:lol

sanford and son is a old tv show about 2 retarted black junkyard workers and they fucked everything up

for a bunch of 17 and 18 y/o’s we seem to have done an alright job 100% yanking and reinstalling a motor :lol

time shall prove that

and it rolly took how many days ?why did ya yank motor

LMFAO:number1:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

took us from like 4PM-9PM on friday to yank the motor (we had to drop it, didn’t have an engine hoist), and probably another 6 hours or so between saturday and sunday to time it, install the pulleys and the new (but 5+ years old :facepalm) s/c belt, and put it all back together. a good 2 hours of that was spent rebuilding the axles that fell apart.

the only issues are the belt (which was fully tightened, so no one’s fault really besides mine for deciding to put it in) and a slight exhaust leak caused by me breaking a stud on the header :facepalm

it was pretty much just myself, joey jiggs and dkid, with joe being the only one with motor-pulling experience and none of us had any experience working on MR2’s besides minor stuff on my friend’s. joe the the vast majority of the work, dkid certainly helped a lot and i was kind of along for the ride, doing the easy stuff (exhaust, etc.). was pretty much a learning experience for me.

Can’t you change the belt easier from underneath the car? Just don’t see why you wouldn’t just change the belt instead of using a quick fix to get an extra lb or two of boost!

i havent looked too closely on if that belt can be accessed from the passenger rear wheel well, it might be.

this fix is only for tomorrow night at the track, i got a few runs in stock, i want to get some with just the pulley, and then with the pulley and the chip. i’m not looking for this fix to last any longer than tomorrow night at the track, i’m on the MR2 forums now looking at what length belt i need and it will be ordered in that size from “gatorbelt” or whatever as soon as i confirm the length

thanks for the help guys, seriously

dude ,ya dont need to yank a motor to change a belt …i know your young and retarted but use your head

oh ok…yea I mean I would check to see if you can make it an easy job but taking the wheel and axle off, shouldn’t take more then an hour or two tops to change it out if you can access it.

on this car, you do.

here’s a pic that shows the clearance between the camgears, crankpulley, supercharger pulley, etc. etc. etc. and the side of the bay

the pic is not taking from exactly 90* vertical but you can see that there is less than 4" of space there

i’ll show you at the track tomorrow if you’re there :lol if you can tell me another way to change the timing belt, accessory belts and the idler, tensioner, waterpump and crank pulleys, i’m all ears :lol

so wait… you’re feeding this more boost than it had stock and haven’t done anything to the fuel system?

totyota guys love rrfpr tuning.

:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

:lol
He said in another thread that “he feels the car going lean” :rofl :rofl:retardclap

I think he meant he felt the car leaning… while driving through mad tyte rectum canyons located on lark street in Albany!!

bahahaha this thread is WIN!

genius a quick fix would be to get a new belt. :lol, done, over.

:lol No, I’ll sit this one out now Jon. There are some fine suggestions in here.

was a joke adam ,no harm no foul …trac aint here anymore for my ball bustin so now everyone is gettin it
