second of all i need to replace my “crackpipe” and my serpintine belt. what i want to know is…

  1. how hard is this to do? the belt looks tough
  2. who wants to halp me?

serp belt is cake, iono bout crack pipe.

belts generally are but this look hard because there is like no room.

im still out of town… crackpipe sucks to do.

you just pull the tensioner back and slip the belt off. well thats how it’s on the 1.8t’s and tdi’s.

:gtfo… u dont “pull” anything back. you have to thread a bolt into the tensioner to release spring pressure from it.

the tensioner, theres a nub coming off of it, you put the box end of a 16mm wrench and push down on the wrench and you release the tension.

i’ve done it about 4 times so far and have yet to use a bolt.
