Any Yamaha Snowmobilers...Need Help

I’m trying to find an answer that works, even if it’s one I don’t want to hear. Can a tether switch be put on an Apex GT? I don’t know if it’s open loop or closed loop, and no one can tell me. Also, at the drags (on snow) do they REALLY check to see if the tether worked. Say I maybe put it on there and somehow forgot to hook it up, but it’s mounted so it may appear to be working, do they pull them on every sled there?

yes you can put a tether switch on them, what year apex?

well its their for a reason so don’t just fake it, but i cant see how hard it wo uld be to install one.

You can but a tether switch on anything !! and yes im sure the check in the pits if its working… yamaha incorporates a system called TORS on their sleds which is a throtel position sensor which if the throtel gets stuck wide open it will change spark to the enging bringing the machine to a halt.
Go to www.rx1.info they will know more than I…4 strokes rule

Well here’s what has happened so far. Went to an un-named dealer and picked up an Artic cat closed tether switch because thats what he said we needed. Hooked it up, no worky. Called them, another guy said that oh no, you need the open switch. But they’re out, so we bought from someone else. Hook it up, no worky. Drive to 1st dealer, he showed us how he is hooking it up, did that, didn’t work. Hooked it up anyway I could think, even how 4-wheelers are hooked up, still nothing. Then call a 3rd dealer, says the Apex puts out too much voltage to have an Artic Cat switch work, it will just burn out. Someone’s gotta know somebody with an Apex…

Cliff Notes: Pioneer sucks balls.
