We did this same trip for our honeymoon last year…one day in Florida, then one at Great Stirrup Cay (which is gorgeous and awesome) then one in Nassau. It’s great for unlimited decent food, 24 hours a day…liquor is expensive, but everything goes on the ship debit card so it feels like Monopoly money until you get the bill. Buy the unlimited soda card, even though its $50.
There’s lots of corny stuff, but enjoy it. Hang out in the piano bar, go to the art auction, party with the cruise director. You’ll be around thousands of weirdos you’ll never see again, so don’t worry about anything.
Just imagine a prison; You know free food, daily activity, movie time, sneaking booze in. Now imagine that prison is on the sea floating and you have to pay a big fat tip when you leave.
Ya that tip is rediculous, already paid it tho so really only have to pay for stuff we want. I guess were allowed to bring soda water etc but it has to be included in our luggage weight
+1 on the mouthwash bottle with alcohol in it. Seriously do it. You’ll save 1-2 hundred dollars in drinks. I spent ~600 on me and my girlfriends tab on our last one. ugh.
Ohh, And we snuck a liter of rum on the boat from Jamaica in my Nalgene bottle. That made for a cheap night
It also helps to win $$ in the casino, I won ~$2500 on my last one. Basically paid for our cruises and excursions, lol.
make sure you do stuff while on the boat, don’t do a lot of just “sitting by the pool” or else the time is going to go by way to quick, if you plan stuff out after looking on the schedule it makes for a much better experience and makes you feel better about take advantage of every dime you spend.
the excursions get expensive quick so try to find some of the ones that take a decent amount of time, they normally give you the better bang for the buck. if you want to sign up for them now or on the cruise it doesn’t really matter, but on the cruise it can be quite the line.
oh and make sure you fast for at least 3 days before you go, because food is everywhere on the ship
ok i went to the bahamas in february heres a few tips
dont leave tips at dinner, dont leave tips for room service, before you leave the ship goto the main desk and when you sign out just tell them you left cash tips, if you dont they will automatically charge you tips for everything. I saved around $150
before i got back on the boat in the bahamas i bought several small bottles of rum (plastic cap so it doesnt set off the metal detector) put them in my cargo shorts pockets, and in my underwear, saved $$$ on drinks. I just paid the $50 for the unlimited sodas for my rum and cokes.
if you goto paradise island watch out for the n*g on the beach that sells drinks out of coconuts, he will rip you off with watered down rum, i got into a fight with him and he ended up giving me an entire bottle of rum lmao FUCK HIM if he cant take a joke.
dont pick fights with the security gaurds, they tried arresting me once, i took off running and got away.
dont go on a small ship, i went on a carnival i dont remember the name of the boat but it was one of their smaller ones, we went through some rough waters the last night it was not fun after drinking a bottle of captain
one thing that is fun to do is throw random things off the back deck, umbrellas, tables ect
watch out for blk chics that look like wesley snipes
