a co worker was asking me about my honey moon and if I was taking my 3 year old, i said yeah and she commented that carnival cruise lines likes to push drinks on ppl. basically saying there are alot of drunks on these cruises now a days and they are alot worse than the other cruise lines. I wanna know if anyone else has heard this?? not trying to take my 3 year old on a cruise with a bunch of drunken assholes. I went on one like 10 years ago but shit changes
not the best place to be taking a 3 year old.
leave him at home with a box of sheerios. thats whta my parents did
are you trying to say childhood drinking effected your spelling?
I’ve been on 2 carnival curises in the past 4 years or so and I wouldn’t say that they “push” dinks on anyone, anymore than a regular bar does. They just have guys walking around asking people in the lounge chairs if they want anything, nothing scientific about it.
I don’t remember anyone really drunk to the point where they were beligerant, actually I don’t remember seeing anyone visually drunk.
Drinking is part of vacationing. I was on a royal caribbean ship and they had a special kids zone of the ship…pool…games…activities…etc.
Carnival for me in May and Feb 08… the groups I’m going with are belligerent on every cruise they go on (these two will be numbers 34 and 36), so I guess it depends.
Ive always had good experiences with carnival, ive gone on about 4-5 of them, but If your taking your kid id reccomend taking a disney cruise ive been on 2 of them and there good for the kids and you can still enjoy your self on them as well.
I have been on Carnival before, you are fine. I am sure all the people who are posting not to go, have never been on a cruise in their life. Carnival is just as good, if not better than all the other cruise lines as far as I’m concerned. They will not push drinks on you any more than the rest of them. Almost all cruise ships you go on though there will be a lot of people drinking a lot, it is their vacation after all.
no that was the molesting my neighbor did to me.
That sounds like a better option if your bringing your 3 year old along…
A buddy of mine went on a carnival and said it was constant partying, but he said there was places for it, it wasn’t like running around rampantly partying and drunk but just the bar/casino/rooms.
I don’t think you’ll take your kid into the bar after hours anyways so its not like you would be having a bad time.
As justin said it is everyone’s vacation so of course they wanna get laid back, get drunk, etc. but my parents went on one and they don’t party/drink and they had a blast they said. Lots of good fun they said.
I went on a carnival cruise last year. It is more of a family shipline rather then a teen drinkathon…they do have tons of people walking all over the ship with the “drink of the day” They make alot of tip money so of course theyll ask you if you want a drink. I didnt seem to mind lol. The security is pretty tight there so i dont see anyone causing problems for yah or letting things get out of hand. My parents are actually leaving on a carnival cruise this sunday. They go every year and love it.
fyi - I believe passports will be required by carnival starting next year.
have you guys ever compared a disney cruise to a carnival. a 3 day is like 2k for 2 ppl, i am paying 2k for a 7 week and 4 ppl with carnival
this already starterd i believe. if you are flyng or going by boat u need a passport, if you are driving say to canada, your fine til next year. this is what i heard of the news
its fine for kids…all day theres kid shit to do…and theres 20 dollar cards you can get so anyone under 18 has unlimited obviously non-alcoholic drinks on the ship
on royal, they have a children’s center with bb sitters etc. they dont really “push” drinks on you, but you have tons of people walking around offering them. I just said no… the only drunks i saw were at a night club…and you wouldn’t bring your kid there anyways.
if you wanted a family cruise though- i’d pick disney. they really are not for kids…not much to do for them
edit:
and you do not need a passport to go on a boat right now. the boy and i just got back from the bahamas in january… it starts next year.
Carnival is more like a “party” cruiseline…Royal Caribean and Princess are more family friendly
