Took the g/f and myself for a little vacation to Mexico. Cruise was with Royal Caribbean, we had good luck with them last year so we stuck with them. Left from Tampa FL on sat 1/10, got back to Tampa thurs 1/15. Sat night and sunday were spent sailing, monday we spent all day in Costa Maya, tuesday was in Cozumel and wednesday was spent sailing home. Costa Maya was a shit hole, not much to do and pretty dirty. Cozumel was tits, had a great excursion. We did the dune buggy tour to a cool snorkeling spot. G/F got attacked literally by a dozen or so tiny jelly fish, lol, she had sting marks all over her. Shit was pretty crazy til we got out of the water, it was hard even for me not to panic. Then we drove in the buggys across the island and ate lunch on the beach. Did tons of shit on the boat too, I’ve got somewhere around 200 pics, here is a small sampling. Trip in total cost us about $800 per person, after tips, souveniers, plane, etc etc.

cheapcruises.com. we booked flights from airtran. can’t beat it. 3 course dinners are all included. you get a different menu every night and if you wanted to eat all 5 entrees, they would bring you all 5. all you can eat breakfast and lunch buffets as well. i probably ate $300 worth of food lol. its pretty sweet eating breakfast in front of floor to ceilings windows in the middle of the ocean as the sun rises. i’d suggest the easter caribbean cruise to coco cay, nassau and key west. they are older ports that had waaay more to do.
I cant wait til April, I get to go on one for free for 6 days and 5 nights. Not sure if it is Carnivale or Royal… all I know is it’s free and all inclusive (except drinks).
I think out boat is sailing to cozumel in earlier august as well. I cant remember for sure. I looked at so many. Just watch the drink bills, they can get out of hand real fast
I went on the freedom of the seas they’ve got a similar layout its just the Grandeur of the seas is even bigger. Simply the best time of my life on that cruise
Damn not bad. Ive been on numerous carnival cruises and one Disney when I was a kid, but have yet to try royal Caribbean. I think im gonna give that a try next month.
How were the buffets and food on the boat? Did they have like the pizza place on it and the ice cream things you can go to 24/7 lol?
Buffets were awesome, food was on par with salvatores. There is a head waiter that has about 20 tables, a main waiter that has about 4, then he has an assistant that keeps drinks topped off and bread etc etc. This cruise had no pizza place, but there was a ben and jerrys and a seattle coffee company place. Free ice cream was soft serve and you can order room service 24/7 which is also free. There was a rock climbing wall at the top of the ship, that was pretty sweet. We’re going to try carnival next time I think, just because we’ve only done Royal Caribbean. Forgot to mention the price included an hour for each of us in the spa.
