Anyone ever go on one of these? Reviews? How’s the food…did you enjoy being on the cruise the entire time…etc.
I’ve never been on one of these and I kinda want to know what the deal is.

I’ve been on 2. Loved it both times, although Mexico kinda sucked. The staff is awesome, the food fuckin rocks and theres so much stuff to do. The dinners are assigned seating so you may get stuck with someone who sucks, but we were lucky and got sat with people who were interesting. At dinner you get a diff menu every night and you can order as many appetizers/entrees/desserts as you want. Our first cruise everyone at the table got a diff plate and we all tried some of eachothers. They always have movies in the theater going, casino at night, shit to do at the pool all day etc etc. When you’re at a port of call there are excursions you will book ahead of time through the website, or you don’t have to book shit and you can just chill. My suggestion would be to book through cheapcruises.com and book your own flight.
been on three in the last year, you can ask me anything and I can tell you. My wife is the shit and researching and getting the best prices. Get a royal carribean CC and get on board credit, The last three trips we have had a t least $400 on board credit.
I’ve been on two as well. The last one one went on was a blast because we went to the Bahamas. My favorite part was when the ship stopped at Royal Caribbean’s Island that they own. It was absolutely beautiful and really cool. There boats are definitely the best out there comparing stories with friends. And the dinners were great. Its really cool because they cater to what you like, for example my dad the first night got a huge shrimp cocktail which is his favorite so he told the waiter how good it was and the guy brought him one every night before dinner even though it wasn’t on the nights menu.
Only down side is drinks aren’t cheap, and the daily buffet was okay (imjust not a buffet person)
But the ship we were on had multiple pools, basketball court, rockwall, ice skating rink, theater. Comedy lounge, multiple bars, spa/gym, and a bunch more I can’t think of
All in all a really good time
check out cruisecritic.com for all of you cruising information.
I am also interested in this subject. I’m trying to go to Belize. Flights are fucking stupid expensive ($4000+), so I’m thinking the only way to get there (from what I hear) is a cruise. Might as well enjoy a nice slow trip down.
Beck you must be paying for several people or not looking hard enough. I found tix for $600 round trip
or talking out his ass as usual.
When you guys say drinks aren’t cheap, what do you mean by that? How much for a domestic bottle of beer?
X…
Please show me. I was on Expedia and just browsing flights mid month in May, I was coming up with ~$1,700 a peson.
:uhh:
Maybe you looked for the Belize on the moon?
Perhaps I’m looking at the wrong Belize…
I see what Carl did. I found them too. However, it’s a pain in the ass.
Buffalo to Washington, stay in Washington for a day overnight. Go back to airport, go from Washington to SAL, then from SAL to PGIA. Kind of a pain in the ass. For $2,200 in savings it would be worth it.
Then it’s the same bullshit back again. I’ll check out flights out of Toronto, or NYC and make a day trip out of it. :gotme:
I don’t even know if I’m going yet. It’s just a destination on a list of many places I’m going to choose from this year.
Yeah the $1700 plane tickets were 2 stops in one day, no connecting flights. UGH.
I remember being on the freedom of the seas a couple years ago and after 1 week our bar tab alone was around 1300 for 4 people. 15%gratuity for every drink you buy. Long island was like 8-9 dollars, gin and tonic around 5-6, and domestic beer was around 5. 25$ for a bucket. By the third morning we were able to look at our tab on the television and it was around 700 we couldn’t believe it.
Cruised with Royal Caribbean 2 times within 2 months, both to the Bahamas. We were on the monarch of the seas, awesome ship, food is good.
any questions let me know.
Actually $1300 for 4 people for a week is not bad at all!
Cheap fuckers on the cruise sites fill plastic pouches with liquor from home, and mix drinks in the room.
The cruise ship xrays for glass bottles, and they take them, but they haven’t taken the pouches yet.
They are called rum runners. You can buy them or drink a box of wine and use the pouch. When we went last year we brought 4 bottles of champagne and none of them were taken. I decided against using the rum runners as I really didn’t want flat champagne.
I can’t even imagine what our bar tabs were. We went for my brothers birthday, and my dad picked up all of the drinks. He had to have dropped thousands as there were 8 of us.
Yeah $5 a beer isn’t cheap, but not crazy.
X…
alright, cool. i’m convinced this would be a good idea.
i got an offer to DJ on one of the boats and it seemed pretty good, but i wasn’t sure about the whole being on a boat thing for so long (i’d be doing 4 weeks on a boat with breaks)
sounds like this will be a damn good time
