Anyone else going to/ever do this?

Road racing out Beaver Run this year. I am going to try it out this year and figure it may turn out to be the most fun day of my life. Only down side is it will set me back 165 american.

Don’t you have to add extra oil to the LS1 cars when road racing to keep it from getting oil starved?

I posted in car videos from one of last year’s NASA HPDEs a while back. Most fun i’ve ever had driving a car!

I am beyond fired up…I had my most fun day ever at the autox school 2 years ago…I liked it a lot better than drag racing…took more skill and thinking and I had more fun…now this has to be crazy. From what I hear I should be able to pull like 140-150 on the one straight

First one is on 3/19. Only $100.

Yup, I’m signed up. I’ve done them in the past and it’s a ton of fun. Make sure to bring a cloth as they suggest… it really was true.

I’m in on 3/19. The Mini club is running on the road course that day, too. It’s my first chance to try out my new TurboKompressor setup. Should be fun.

I don’t think I can make the one on the 19th, is this some kind of special price or do they run that price often? From what I saw it was like 165.

This is a special price since it’s so early in the season. Between the Beaver Run events, NASA events and marque-based car club events, there are typically 20 or so of these per year. There are lots of opportunities but none will be this cheap.

Once you try this, you will be hooked. Be careful it’s like a highly addictive drug and you will find yourself re-arranging your life to do it more. …ask me how I know?

Ahh well I am sure it will be cool to go some other time…if you know of any decent deals to go please let me know. It would be cool for you to take me to school on how to pilot my car again.

Actually I think the Minis are running AutoX and maybe the cart track, and then at the end of the day they will be running parade laps on the track.

The 19th is really a Mini club day at Beaverun. They’ve opened it up to outside drivers to ensure it fills. I’m told the Mini club has first dibs, though.

We’ll be doing the typical lapping day: 5, 20 minute sessions on the track. We’ll also have the oppurtunity to do an autocross and timed runs on the cart track, if we wish, between track sessions.

That’s pretty cool, are the Autox and cart track open to all or just Mini club drivers?

Not sure. I’d check with one of the officers of the club:

I’ll be there but won’t be running the car. I didn’t realize that it was only $100 to run or I would have jumped on it. My best friend is running her MCS with the Mini Club and the rest of my friends will be running in their non-Minis. I’m dying to take the SS/SC out, just missed the opportunity this time. I’ll make it up there for at least one of the other flat-out days though.

If you see me at an event (even if you are not driving), come by and say hi. Just be careful - I might hand you a wrench.

I don’t remember what car I had when we last met but this is the latest one:

…and people just love the Type-R stickers.

tear… looks just like my old one. oh well ill have another here in a week or so.

not really,its in peices :eek4:

I know you had the black LS1 for the one event I went to. When I went to lessons 2 years ago I think you were there instructing but did not have your ride. But you told me about the formula. Your dad still have the LT1? That is a sick machine!!
