Anyone feel like breaking block?

It’s my mom’s house. This winter was so wet that the ground got saturated, and you can see the result. The real kicker is…homeowners didn’t cover it.

I’m taking out all of the block and repouring it with insulated concrete forms. Pouring ICFs isn’t hard…it’s getting all of that damn block out of the hole.

that sucks. why won’t homeowners cover it?

“We don’t cover ground movement or water subgrade.” If it would have caved and took the roof…they would have paid the roof. Or if it was a flood (ie…water on TOP of the ground) they would have covered it.

Homeowners Insurance is a joke. It’s only good for a baseball through a window.

x2

I got flooded last september while I was on vacation. I came home to 3 inches of water in my basement. homeowners didn’t cover it because it was flood water, but if a pipe broke or the toilet stopped up and ran over they would have covered it. homeowners is a complete joke.
