Anyone had Bats in the house, seems they are everywhere

We have had 3 bats in our house in W. Seneca over the last week, my friend in S. Buffalo said a couple of his neighbors did, and my brothers who live in Lockport had 2 over the last week- what is going on?

Anyone else had bat problems?

They are pretty cool creatures except for the fact they are reportedly the leading cause of Rabies transmission to humans

I have one living in my warehouse in cheektowaga.

See them all the time at night in the crosspoint business park in amherst. They fly around near the lights, and eat bugs.

yup they love skeeters!!!They are actually really good to have around but kind of scary if in your house!!!

someone must be displacing a colony. it’s an undertaking to get rid of them the right way if you get a whole lot of them inside. if it’s a few, find out how they got in, and fix it right way. if it’s a colony, you have to put a one way exit so they can get out safely and cannot get back in, and then they go to your neighbors house. August is when organized colonies are usually kicked out by exterminators b/c the young are mature enough to go out and feed themselves and they let them out but not back in.

We had a pretty large group (50ish) of them living in either the attic or more likely the eaves earlier this summer. They seem to have moved on lately. Never had them before.

What if you put up some bat houses outside? Would they just move into them?

figure out where they are getting out/in and put up screen flaps that will let them out, but not back in.

that is if there isn’t a colony and young inside that are going to die without food and stink in your attic or eves. that’s why they’re all moving around here mid august b/c the young are leaving the nest and the flaps are in full effect everywhere they were…

Sure seems like it, maybe with all the rain
