Anyone have a 10mm x 1mm tap bit?

I need a 10mm x 1mm tap because I took my ABS unit out and I need
to join up the lines together. I figure my dad can make the block that
the lines connect into but he doesn’t have a 10mm x 1mm tap.

I would only need to borrow it for a day.

how did you measure the bolt pattern? normal 10mm Tp is 1.5 with the ‘fine’ thread being 1.25mm you may have a hard time finding a tap like that, if the TP measure is right…

I was told (by Jantos) that the stock thread on the brake lines are
10mm x 1mm. I took his word for it because he’s done a similar thing…

I honestly don’t have the tools to measure so I just went by what
someone told me.

it is 10mmx1

G please make me one of these and let me know how much its gonna run me (PM or MSN me dude)

You also need a distrobution block from the rear sine the fronts go from one line out of hte master cylinder to 2 lines out of the ABS unit. The rear distrobution block works to do that job.

Thanks man, take care

I need to find a tap first. I dunno how excited my dad is to make stuff for
others, since Scott already asked for one. But I’ll look into it since it is
a simple contraption.

And I am aware of the 2-in-1 line for the front that’s why he was gonna
make a T-connector for the front and a straight line for the rears, all
on the same block.

But first I need to find the tap.

 i cannnt waittt to get that stupid abs pump out!!

Or you can just buy this from WURTH Canada

Bottom left of 4th page.

Thanks Sasha! I didn’t see any T-connectors but hopefully I can get that
elsewhere. There is also www.adaptall.com that has BSPT fittings but I
don’t know if it would work well with brake fittings.

This place is pretty much right around my area so I’m gonna drop by.
Any idea what times they are open? Cuz of work I don’t get into town
till around 6pm and by then most places are closed. :frowning:

Are they open on weekends?

These places tend to have shitty hours, I would assuume they close between 4.30-5 on weekdays and are only open until about 1-2 on saturdays. You’d have to call them dude I’m not too sure.

For the “T” like I said above you can actually use the S13/S14 rear brake distrobution block, just find one off of any parts car.

I’m calling them up tomorow to ask about hours and if they have T-connector.

In the meant I’m gonna get Scotty to drop by there if they do have the
parts so that he can buy it for me since I work 9-6:30 everyday.

Unless they are open on the weekend…in that case I can get it myself.

Gonad,

From the sounds of things you are forgetting that brake line fittings seal against a taper. ie the thread is whatever, but that is not what seals the connection, it is the flare of the line up against the taper in the caliper/MC/wheel cyl/dist block. You may have a way around it since you are getting it made, just something to consider.

Yeap I was aware of that. I understand how these fittings work and how
they tighten down the line. :wavey:

i have a 10mx1m tap

Let me see how it goes with the shop mentioned above by Sasha.

If I get nowhere, I might take you up on the offer.

BTW, How much are these taps if I wanted to buy one? By anychance
Canadian Tire or Princess Auto sell them?

If they’re not that expensive, I could probablly make back the $ if I make
distrib-blocks for others for a sall fee.

hi, this may help.

Normal Size Tap Drill Size
10x1mm -----------------> 9.1mm or 11/32

American National Pipe Tap Drill Size
1/8-27 NPT ------------------> 11/32

so basically what u need is a 11/32. I tryed this on my 300zx calipers, worked great

I’ll ask my dad to try this out and see how my lines fit. Thanks homefry.
