Anyone know about Acuras?

Specifically a TSX?

I’m thinking about getting rid of the S4 for something that is a bit better on gas (i get about 16-17 around the city). I’ve always liked the TSX styling and at 23 mpg, isnt too bad when combined with the reliability of a honda 4 banger.

Pros? Cons? Other vehicle choices?

they’re pretty nice, but for the same price of a used tsx you can get a brand new si, and the si you can get 1.9 or 2.9% financing for.

Northtown VW has an Accord Sedan V6 6-speed. They get similar gas mileage and use regular fuel.

i was thinking an accord too. The 4 cyl accord gets a nice 26 mpg city (89 octane) vs. the tsx w/23 (91 octane). Reading some of the acura forums i was seeing most people getting 25+ in city driving with the tsx though. But 89 does seems like the better money saving choice.

why does the tsx need 91 if its just a normal honda 4 cyl?

The TSX’s are nice, as are the TL’s. I think you’re going to really miss the comfort and power of the s4 once you move(somewhat downgrade) into a honda/acura

i used to have an acura CL and i loved it. it rode nice and had a decent motor. The s4 just isnt what i thought it was gonna be. Its a great car, dont get me wrong, but the mileage with premium gas is just starting to get to me now. Figure i could downgrade a little and still stay in a nice car.

I’d say look into the TL’s, and TSX’s then. Gorgeous cars for the money. It’s not like you don’t have a sporty car to play with when it’s nice out anyways

my TL has plenty of power. I love it.

Oh I know they have power, just nothing like the stock power of a 2.7 liter bi turbo

I love when I get to drive TL’s at valet

It’s probably almost as quick as your Audi thing.

get an 05/06, or newer if possible, more features

20-25K for one with low miles

i was pretty hot & heavy on them before our little gas crisis

truly a pleasure to drive, even the automatics are Very responsive - i’d actually go auto over the 6spd. handling is outstanding, lots of trunk space, decent passenger space in the back.

They’re a great car for the money. robTC, there isn’t a comparison between this and a new Si. ugh, those are a good car if you’re like, 18. you would have to drive & sit in one to understand. not a bad car but not even comparable for what it sounds he’s looking for

i’m looking at 04/05 for any car i get for monetary reasons

fair enough, Lot of car for sub 20K

best of luck. Go test drive one with CU approved loan beforehand and see how difficult it is to leave without it

what year is that one?

Ray Laks has an '04 tsx on the lot, so i may have to check it out monday

2007 (second link I posted above).

offtopic: The new TSX looks a lot better in person than it does in pictures.

ugh, you think? new TSX pull an xB on the world, just like any updated model: larger and further away from the original ethos. Fuckin’ hate the 2g TSX
