I know you may say “get a replacment its cheaper” but the one I want repaired is an impul s13 speedo (0-260). I emailed impul-usa and they never responded, and as far as i know its discontinued in impul-japan…
i am wondering if theres any places that can fix it back to working new order.
What’s wrong with it?
Does it just not work with your speed sensor or is it dead?

Have you tested the actual vehicle speed sensor?
They output AC voltage so as a quick check you could pop it out, put a meter on it and give it a good spin.
Is your speedometer giving you any reading or does it just sit at 0?
does it work just not colabarated? (sp?)
Well the needle itself is kind of busted, when I bought it I bought it just before I got married, it came in the mail, I was lazy/busy to install/test it, my dad left a positive ebay feedback, I got busy, I traveled abroad for 3 months, had car stored 4 months, when I even started driving I was sitll lazy, FINALLY I went and instaled it and BOOM to my shock, the speedo didn’t work… It would pop up to 20 or 10.
Then took it out, when I took it to my dad, he noticed that the needle was slightly pressed in on angle even, meaning the mechanism was fooked, and possibly some capacitors/etc… since it would just get a constant voltage of some sorts, didn’t go through process of checking everything though.
Sometimes it would ‘work’, but it would of course not be accurate, just at random every few say once in a week… and when it worked it worked in strange strange ways, so now what happened needle dropped past 260km/hr and its just laying there whenever i drive, however if i drive say 100km/hr the speed DROPS gets pulled back sort of to 220-240km/hr weird effect. Same thing was happening before if it jumped to 20km/hr when at 100km/hr it would drop to 0km/hr in other words it would lose voltage.
So yea… the speedo needs fixing and I suppose tranny speed sensor needs replacing.
Sounds more like the previous owner snapped the needle when removing it. Then jammed it back on.
But why it was removed doesn’t make sense. Unless it’s just a Impul speedo face and OEM backing. Then yeah, he’d need to take the needle off.
Nah it was just pressed in… it def isn’t a stock speedo as the circuitry is a little bit different than my JDM 180km stock speedo or my USDM mph/km speedo. They are all 91+ even though that only matters for the rpm gauge (since the 89-90 are sohc).
So any shops that can fix it back to 100% working new order then?

The only reason I am on this forum is because it is a local forum, otherwise there are plenty of other forums with people who are helpful. Obviously I won’t go on NICO, or zilvia, texas240, or whatever to ask for a local shop to fix a speedo, but certainly if there was someone there in a locality that could help they would instead of being morons.
Now I’m sure you all have wonderful productive lives, as such you get cheap thrills of firing people up, but hey, to each his or her own.

By the way, a built up auto tranny is a much better solution for drag racing, maybe I have plans for that, maybe not? Do you know what plans I have or goals? Yes I do not have a built up KA or built up auto tranny, but guess what I have that speedo and I want it to function and you don’t have it. Now if you don’t have it, I could care less, in fact I hope you don’t ever have it, as your shitty attitudes do not deserve it even. (OMG LOLZZ LOLZZ like if we care LOLZZ LOLZ RICER LOLZZ).
Either help me get it fully functional as it was once long ago new from impul, eg; my initial question, are there shops around that can help? Or be quiet.
It is of no concern to me whether you should care or not whether my car can go 260km/hr or not. It can only go 210km/hr, it sucks ass in acceleration big time too, whoopie do, but that speedo is mine and I want it to work.
Why do you need a boost gauge that goes up to 40psi? Or even 20psi If you are only boosting 8psi, LOLZ LOLZ OMG. I am being SO FUNNY LOLZZ LOLZZ 20psi and 8psi get it LOLZZ. I am so jealous giggle

I had a similar problem reoccuring problem with my speedo and eventually my whole cluster and my mecanic fixed although I did do the labour involved in putting all the shit he broke back together.
His shop is around the Mississauga/Oakville border maybe he can help you out…pm me if you more details.

When you have a slow car, it’s like you have to go fast to prove something. Going fast or trying to look like you’re fast is so high school.
Oh btw, thanks to people like you who want 240kmh speedos and such. I had an awesome time trying to find a boost gauge that didn’t go up to like 30 psi. I was trying to look for something lower.
