anyone know of some well known people who can customize the steering ratio for our steering racks? possibly in the GTA?

if you are looking for a good ratio rack just buy a manual 300zx (z31) rack and toss it in.

to be honest i havent even tried it yet.

i was just curious because all these subaru guys are sporting a Q-Rack with a 11:1 ratio

just wanted to see if anyone does the same for 240sx

Karl Sprongl told me he was getting some quick ratio boxes done for 240s. I know he was involved in the Subaru Q-boxes around here. Or at least said he was. You never know.

Ask the guys at Rocket Rally Racing. They make the Rocket Quick Rack which they claim is the only one available in North America. Dunno about that.

Oddly enough these guys claim to make the rack that’s used by the same guy that Rocket claims uses their rack - Patrick Richard

I know Tibor’s car … and I’m pretty sure it was built by Karl’s old company Rallytech or whatever it was called.

But it’s not something easy to do. You have to give them a core, they add a new gear, machine everything, etc.

For the Subarus, you’re looking at about $2,000 without a core charge. There’s a $750 core charge for a used box, and $1,400 for a new box.

Ive read there are issues with it putting too much stress on the powersteering pump, you can also just buy a steering quickener it will take a turn out or so.

here are some examples. it will quicken the steering but i don’t know what it will
do to help the ‘feel’ of the steering… summit also sells manual racks too. none for the
240sx but you could aways fab some mounts up.
