anyone no anything about rebuilding older chevy 350s

i could do a stock ebuild for under a 1000$, thats iff you take it out and bring it down

anyone running a flat tappet setup for performance?

I’ve had lots of good luck with regular old flat tappets. I just wouldn’t run them in an rpm motor.

true roller here retro blower cam and afr’s ported to the max.

how high of an rpm would be the limit for flat?

6000rpm or so? 383 stroker ftw

yeah that’s what I want to do, eagle rot assembly from summit

can actually go alittle more then 6k rpm, peak ive seen dyno sheets at 7100, depends on parts and heads.

all good exp with eagle and scat parts. forged is the way to go

the 305 that i pulled out of my truck i shifted at 6500 easily on a stock longblock with a summit 268 cam and performer intake. better valve springs, a performer rpm intake and a good ignition and revving to 7000 would have been no problem

i think a vortec 383 is hard to beat for the dollar. new RHS vortec heads flow 27cfm more than factory GM vortecs and arent too much more money.

even with GM heads untouched, with 10-10.5 compression and a nice 230ish duration roller cam with not much more than .500 lift will make some damn good power.
