Apartment: (house) top or bottom?

What do you guys think? If you had the choice to live in a double, would you chose top or bottom? They each have their advantages.

Top, heat rises (good in winter), more secluded, etc. top porch>bottom porch (if applicable).

bottom, less stairs, easier to move in, COOLER IN THE SUMMER.

but when you’re on bottom you hear everything the people above you are doing.

and when you’re on top, its a noticeable difference in the summer (much warmer).

I have lived in an upper, and it was definately significantly hotter. you could tell the exact point in the stairs where it got hotter lol.

When I lived in the lower the upper was vacant most of the time, so I havne’t really experienced the downsides in terms of noise and whatnot

which would you pick?

my upstairs is WAY colder in the winter… physics lies

when people walk around above you its WAY louder… downstairs. u dont have to climb stairs… i could go on downstairs has basement access normally

I live in an upper. With the hours I’m up and walking around and how creaky my floor is, I’d hate to live in the lower apartment. Yeah, it’s hot in the summer (I was coming home to a 94º apartment this year), but no big deal.

i’d say upper with c/a. problem solved.

I live in a lower and have never lived in an upper, and I’ll tell you right now that upper>lower.

reasons:
you don’t have to mow a lawn in the upper
you get free exercise everytime you leave the house and when you come home.
you don’t have to deal with the assholes upstairs making noise

upper for sure

always upper for noise reason alone.

I own a double and live in the upper. I used to rent a double and lived in the lower and the footsteps above would sometimes bother me. I guess it wouldnt be bad unless you have alot of people living above you. The upper is definately much hotter in the summer, but you do have the benefit of the lower heat in the winter.

i dunno…i actually prefer living upstairs better…and we pay sooooo much less in the winter for heat, i love it. sucks in the summer though, our apartment was a sauna, lol.

lower… long as your bedrom isnt under a place thats traveled much

Well its a double edged sword so to speak…you are either the one making the noise or dealing with the noise…I know 9c1 and Itagaki and I got in trouble a few times for the home theatre and general noise levels. It was sig. wamer in the winter and summer but got a good breeze too. It was nice living in the penthouse…but Moving was def. a PITA. I would rather not have anyone above me and deal with the rest. Thats why I moved into a 1 story house  Noone above or below…and its just me

Top.

You only move in once, but you have to listen to people trampsing around all the time.

If it’s occupied, it won’t be much cooler assuming you used the same AC settings and don’t have more windows and crappy insulation.

lol thats why living below old people rocks  they cant hear you making noise, and they’re almost never loud (except when watching TV lol)

upper> lower. I had a lady living above me and she was LARGE so it was very noisy, and when she had custody of the kids they’d play race up and down the apartment, and that wasn’t fun at all.
The upper may be a little hotter… but just toss 100 bux at an AC unit… and about 30-40 for the electric for the few months it’s used.

Side >* for apartments.

Upper 4 lyfe

It shouldn’t be that much “hotter” or “colder” if you don’t live in a shitty apt with no insulation…

i’d say lower… don’t have to carry yourself upstairs on those drunken nights… and when your carrying stuff in the house, it’s easier when your on the bottom.

Oh what do you know n00b, you just get your man slaves to carry all your crap for you anyway

get an upper an A/C the bish
