tons of the features teh AVC-R has are to compensate for the poor boost control of an actuator type controller. Things like boost drop off at high rpm and boost wobble all can be cured with good avc-r tuning

most of the features on the AVCR are for internal gates and there there to control boost spiking, the whole solonid duty cycle tuning which is how you control your boost is pretty much there to control spiking and rid it at every rpm point.

do external wastegates yield any power gains? i’ve seen people say yes and no. you dont have a before and after dyno do you happy?
theoretically if there was less restriction then yes you would see HP gains but i would guess they would be small (2-3hp)
but you will see midrange power gains while the internal is still building boost external will be at full boost and that area difference on a dyno is useable powaaaaaaaa
