Really this is one of the reasons why I backed off going to the local Infragard meetings. The FBI acts like it’s a huge benefit for the community, but really they are just wanting to use intel from our organizations to benefit themselves.
They’ve been pushing this tool http://www.malwareinvestigator.gov/ for Infragard members to use to analyze malware. Claiming it’s built to help us lol. So let me get this straight, you want me to take every piece of malware I find in my environment and upload it to your portal, with my organization’s name associated with that malware? And you’re going to claim that it’s for MY benefit? I think I’ll stick to malwr and hybrid-analysis, Thanks.
Yea the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (Vice Chairman) who is also a democrat…
Meanwhile Hillary and Bernie won’t pick a side in the Apple debate probably waiting on polling lol
I don’t know why you want to make this purely a political thing like I said their are high ranking republicans and democrats on both sides of the issue…Hell Obama and the Whitehouse want Apple to decrypt it also.
Its an election year, this is going to see how they can benefit the most. Obama to be honest was a big surprise after he pushed to limit the NSA powers. I really want to see what is on this phone that is causing such a push for the data. The encryption laws are the new Patriot Act. No way that bill would have gone thorough if it wasn’t after 9/11.
Again there isn’t shit on the phone its the dudes work phone…It’s been a coordinated attack for the last year on encryption and Apple about this stuff.
Everyone in the US gov’t only stands to benefit from getting Apple to comply. It’s not about the Elephant or the Donkey. It’s about, “We need to beat the terrorists”. And EVERYONE in Washington and in all of the 3 letter agencies will be happy to burn the constitution to ashes if they think it would make it “easier” to wage their “war on terror”.
Basically what it comes down to is, Law Enforcement Investigations are hard. They want to answer certain questions, and when those answers lie solely on encrypted devices, they hit major roadblocks that they may never get passed.
Why I never said it would have helped =) I thought I remembered someone else buying the guns for them. Also, there will never be just one law to fix all this or prevent anything.
Yep. Just using an event and fear to stretch their government reach.
Boss was on Fox last night about this…This interview was funny because it wasn’t supposed to be one sided he was kinda pissed after it was over.
I think the two biggest points here is the FBI requested the password be reset causing this lock out and this was the WORK phone he actively went out of his way to destroy his personal phone.
Haha Good lord. That woman is a moron and I just hate the way her face looks. She has the demeanor of a woman who was never noticed and often overlooked and is on a power trip now because she landed a job in the media. Comb over boy is stuck back in the 1960s when the government didn’t breach this far into its citizens privacy.
Such a one sided debate have you. There will always be two views and two sides to a story. I hate shit that goes down that way. What was the point of that?
