Hey everyone, my name is Nick and I am Vice President of OhioRides Domestic Car Club. Just letting you guys know that a friend of mine (who is the President) and myself are putting together a big show this April in Columbus. It is a 2-day event that starts with a huge show on Saturday with several vendors and voting contests where people can win big prizes and trophies. Saturday night, there will be a huge party with a beer tent and a bonfire outside. Sunday will be another smaller show for those who want to stick around.
To enter your car in the show, a fee of $10 is required, which will go to pay for gift bags, trophies, t-shirts, etc. With that $10, you are guaranteed a spot in the show as well as you will receive a reservation number at the hotel where the show is being held. The show will be held at a Comfort Inn and Suites. The hotel has been remodeled and is extremely nice.
PRICES
The $10, like I said, reserves your hotel rate of $54.99 a night for up to 3 nights Fir-Sun 21-23rd. You don’t have to stay all three nights, but it is required that you spend at least Saturday night at the hotel.
Here are some examples of if you want to bring a friend along with you and they would like to enter the show or not.
1 person 2 nights hotel = $110 + tax for room and $10 for the show
2 people 2 nights hotel = $55 a piece plus tax and $20 to enter both cars in show
3 people 2 nights hotel = $33.67 a piece plus tax and $30 if all three cars are entered
(if three people are going yet only one car is being brought/entered then it is only the $10 to enter the car and $5 a head making the total $20.00 for three people and one entered car)
Remember you can stay for three nights. But most of the event will happen over the two nights. Also, $5 from everyone registering will go towards a pizza dinner Saturday night.
Vendors/Sponsors
So far, we have a small list of vendors and sponsors, but we are getting more interest every day.
As of now, we have:
-Intense Racing. They do a lot of things for GM V6s, especially the 3800. Have the fastest Bonne and GTP on Earth. Are giving away AMAZING deals at the show. (For example, PCM Reflashes for 50% off, and they do it right there at the show).
-JaxWax. High-end wax company based in Ohio.
-GMRacing. Specialized in F-Body products. Just got done building a twin-turbo set-up that puts out about 740-750 hp.
-Audiobahn. Donating products to display as well as raffle off and give to first place winners.
Working on more as we speak.
Specific Details
Friday night we will be meeting everyone, getting to know each other. over night we will have 3 guards at the event, two armed guards, and one regular guard. Your car should be safe at the event. I will be at the event, Friday for check-in Saturday for the judging, pizza party and bowling at night, and Sunday for the awards ceremony. I will leave the event Monday morning for those who opt to stay Sunday night which is $5 less for the cost of $49.99 that evening if anyone else opts to stay one more evening.
Right now we have a 50 room block. Once you pay in I will get you a conformation name and contact to the hotel. You can pay in advance, there is no charge for cancellations if something comes up, but it must be done at least 24 hours in advance of the show. Right now we are looking at about 55 cars across different boards. We have some smoking rooms, ADA Handicapped accessible rooms, non- smoking, two double, two queen, and king beds set aside. If we spread the word about our site and the event then we can rent out this entire thing (137 rooms) which would be a major block party type event to enjoy.
