they let hot air from your engine bay blow onto your tires :rofl
They vent air out and draw air down. Particularly beneficial to someone with a cold air intake thats filter is in a far fender well or to cars with small side mount intercoolers located in the upper corners. other wise its just added ventilation for under hood heat.
Besides bling factor, why wouldn’t I just go to lowes and buy a soffit vent?

I can see those thin aluminum louvers getting pounded by rocks and such. For my budget, I would just bent them back with a screwdriver once in a while and spray it black again.
They are pretty thick not.flimsy
