Are 12k HIDs too strong?

Hi i just ordered these HIDs off ebay, do you guys think they are legit??

I got the 12k but i was wondering if those are too bright or should i stick to 10k. Also are the 12k nice?
Thx

the “K” doesn’t measure brightness

12k is neither brighter nor dimmer than 10k
it’s a measure of color temperature

anything higher than ~4500K is too much

12K will be very purple/blue in colour. Like mike said 4500K is as much as you need.

Only goes to 10K, but you get the idea:

I’d go 8000k
I seem to like the look of 8000 on my buddies mr2 in my rearview…even though it is blinding lol.

^That doesn’t look very accurate to me. My car has 4300k from the factory, and the colour looks like the 6000k pictured above. The cutoff and spread are ofcourse much better.

aftermarket HID companies all rate them differently, those charts are never right. actual 4300k is white like the 6000k, that chart sucks.

i just read an artlicle on Zilvia.net other day(to lazy to find right now) on HID’s and the reflective effect from non halogen caseings is a disaster. no clean edges on cutoff… almost like bad glare.

so double check your research… plus around 12000K is pink… wow…

rougly i think 12ks will look like this cars fog light http://picdb.thaimisc.com/cefiroffclub/848.jpg

for distance go with 6000, the farthest youll see, for brightness go higher K but u do lose the distance even though you do see it cause its so bright cause the light isnt stable enough to shoot far and stay white it goes really blue!!

this makes absolutely zero sense and could not be more wrong

Yeah my buddy has 12Ks on his S4…it looks ridiculus and is super annoying on the road.

LOL. sweet advice man.

a vid of 12k preety sik http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZvYHYqv95FY&feature=related

im not wrong!! i have done the research, and talked to companies!!

i have in my car 6K nice and white with NO BLUE,
when going with higher Ks the light becomes for unstable for distance, but is still REALLY bright, and bluer!!

i have done test myself and proved the theroy myself and it became a fact!

6k goes farther then 10K down the road, BUT 10K is REALLY bright and comes up short for distance

did you actually take grade 9 science class and pass it? holy crap.

i have 8000k, in a thread close by this one.
i love the 8000k. and i have projectors cause of the silvia light, crisp cut offs and amazing lighting. never been more happy with the buy.

no one high beams me or anything.

i think 12k’s is too much, i have 6000k’s on an MDX and im happy with it…

plus if the popos notice your headlights have a different tint to it, it would get their attention

Now that we’ve determined that 12k has no relevance to ‘power’ or being too strong…

the next question you should ask yourself - am I stupid enough to put the HIDs in a non-projector housing?

nah man GRADE 10!!! lol u punk… you just had say something!! lol

Because what you wrote makes no sense whatsoever. It’s as if you tried to come up with the most ridiculous bullshit you could, and then when you were satisfied, posted it on here.
