HIDs for my 2006 Pilot

Hey guys… I need some advice from an HID pro! I really want to get a set of HIDs for my 2006 Honda Pilot, which already has the projector headlights. I am going to spend the money on a set of MTec HIDs, just not sure if I want a 6000K or 8000K kit. Any help would be appreciated!!

This is a link to the kit I have been looking at.

Get the 6000k

why 6000k rather than 8000K? Will the 6000K give me that much better light on the road?

after 4500k the lumen(light) output drops and color turns to a cooler(color temp) blue to purple hue.

if you can find a 4300k-4500k set thats your best bet(oem hid output), almost white,

neither… 4300K

some people dont understand that.

:+1 I’m buying 4300K for my HID setup.

4500-600 kits give the most light and some color. i saw some ppl have like 12000K and its got lots of color, but they look super dim. i had 6000K on my mitsu and now that kit is on my mom’s camry. the lighting is excellent. my audi’s oem lights have less color, but are just as bright.

Have any of you 4300 preachers ever seen 4300s next to, say, 6000k?

The light output difference is negligible. Maybe when you get up to the 10k+ region output drops significantly.

your audi lights are brighter. 4300kelvin is the oem output. Lumen output PEAKS at 4500k and decreases past there, with a change in the hue. 6000k is a white/blue. for the best possible lighting, 4300-4500K is ideal.

ahhh yup. Blew a stock 4300K bulb and decided to give 6000K a try… 4300K was absolutely better. blow me.

Might LOOK better but that doesn’t mean light output changed enough for your naked human eye to judge.

Thanks guys!!! Exactly the answers I was looking for!

This looks like the kit I am going with then!

the D2S blew in the Evo? those bulbs arent very cheap

yea, they look about the same. i think the difference is due to my car having projectors and the camry having normal lights. it looks like it has more blue to it. overall though, that kit is great. i want to pick up something similar for my fog lights. they make 0 difference when theyre on. they got tiny shitty bulbs in em now.

anything beyond 6000k looks stupid. 6000k looks good, but its not the BEST LIGHTING, thats the point here. the best lighting is available at 4500KELVIN

I’m not arguing that the 4300s have the highest light output in lumens, I’m arguing that you could actually tell the difference, it all comes down to what you want, honestly my 3000ks are so easy on the eye when driving that I’d argue they are the best for night time driving, but then again nothing is better than true white light.

yup, then I blew a ballast a week later… :wow

I agree asshole

you guys ever see that lexus(i see it on 787 all the time) with pink headlights and foglights?
