I have had mine on for a few weeks now. Checked it yesterday. There was brake dust/dirt on the wheels. I wiped it off with my bare hand and they looked perfectly clean again. I am actually impressed. I thought I wasted $8, but it was worth it.
I tried to find this yesterday at Autozone… no dice.
dice are in the ricer aisle…teehee.
I wonder if this would work on atv plastic to help in the cleaning…
Just wanted to bump this as I go out to buy my second can, I’ll definitely be buying this regularly…The wheels outlast the car now as far as needing to wash.
Much easier to apply and remove than the eagle one equivalent. A can lasted 2 “liberal” applications.
When my front wheels would have been black without it, they just start to show dusting in the forward rolling crevices. Also rain doesn’t seem to affect it much if at all.
Just be sure your wheels are completely dry before applying, and let it dry for a couple hours before driving.
^agreed… on all accounts other than the rain… but it may have to do with wheel design… i notice mine get dirty after 500+ miles in the troughs.
I used this on my trucks wheels a few days before driving to Blown Euros (Philly) and haven’t washed it since. The wheels seem a little cleaner than usual so I’ll check back in here once I have a chance to clean them.
Mine finally started getting dirty but wiped clean why a dry paper towel.
I bought a can of this tried it and didnt get good results, it seemed to be harder to get brake dust off than without as it was sticky when i tried wiping my wheels but i will try again though maybe i did it wrong or something
It needs a long time to dry in my experience. If it’s not totally dry, dust will stick in it rather than lay on top of it.
My black wheels looked like ass because, well, black shows any little blemish. I had to reclean my wheels to make certain they were streak free before applying the wheel protectant. (The streaks didn’t show until I applied the protectant)
Seems to reduce the amount of brake dust to a minimum. I was hoping to be able to rinse off the brake dust/grime that did accumulate but that wasn’t in the cards. I gently wiped the wheels clean except for a few areas that needed to be scrubbed.
Put my second application on last week. It’s really holding up great and the dust cleans off very easy when it’s time to wash.
got my rebate in the mail last week, need to really clean the wheels before i put some more on.
Going to try rinsing off the wheels every two days or so and see if that will remove the dust before it takes hold.
^^ I’ve been doing that actually. It still builds up, although less than without it.
And 1 bottle = 2 applications on my truck it seems.
