Nice work!!
Just have him watch out for them digging holes under the fence!
Yeah, at least the chain link was kind of nailed to the ground by grass and weeds. We kept it as tight as possible. We’ll see. He likes it.
That commercial renovation is pretty sweet
Thanks. Wasn’t your run of the mill strip plaza build out. Wish I had more time for pics but things were moving pretty quickly. Owner blew all his cash on the interior so we weren’t able to do much on the outside. Some challenges being a unique structure but I’m used to it. Too bad no one will ever see it, not a retail space.
Master Bath Remodel
Just wrapped up the details on a small master bath remodel yesterday. Nothing fancy but a fair amount of product crammed in a relatively small space. Enjoy.
Example of what the shower locker looks like
For some reason I didn’t take before pics. Must’ve been really ugly before.
Layout didn’t change very much at all. Everything stayed in the same location. Previous shower was a hard wall arrangement with small shower door. Original pan leaked so bad it totally destroyed the subflooring and wall plates and dropped the ceiling into the foyer below.
-Replaced entire subfloor and wall plates.
-Added plenty of additional lighting including exhaust fan vented to exterior air (original one was vented to the attic, in typical fashion)
-Re-used existing pedestal sink and toilet.
-New cabinetry, shower pan, walls, tile.
-New shower valve, hand shower. Also installed Kohler Pilaster in wall shower locker. Use these a lot but forgot to get a picture. (see stock photo above)
-3/8" frame less clear glass shower door.
-Patched, skimmed, primed, and painted foyer ceiling.
Looks good! i was actually going to post in here yesterday and ask where the hell the updates were lol
i’ve only used those locker things maybe twice, I am really surprised more people don’t use them as opposed to those stupid plastic red/yellow niche things that you tile over
Is that accent tile the kind where you glue the wall, and leave the plastic adhesive on the front and then peel it off the next day? Have you ever had a problem with it not allowing the glue to dry and sometimes the tile pop up upon peeling? Maybe it is just our glue… we used the red top flextile wall glue. Any other time it dries within a few hours though
I use the same Latticrete thinset as I do for the main tiles, just with a different trowel notch. Typically stop there on day one so they cam set up overnight. The shower locker is very popular and only a few people don’t care for it.
I have considered one of those solatubes for my master bath upstairs. Maybe I’ll have you give me am estimate in the spring. Are the home depot ones decent or should I stick with the real deal?
I’m not familiar with the Depot version. I’m actually thinking of getting aggressive on these this season. Looking at going with Velux as a vendor through my local wholesaler.
Well keep me posted if you do and maybe we can set something up. I’ve heard good things about them, but only when they are installed properly (like most things obviously)
Skylight is still a roof penetration but you’re right. Installed properly there should be no issues. Get in touch in the spring and we’ll figure it out.
nice work
Custom Cherry Cabinet
Been working on this one in my “spare time” for a good customer of mine. We are fabricating a custom cabinet to replace some original kitchen cabinets that were installed as a desk setup when the house was first built. Current setup just doesn’t function well for her anymore and never looked quite “fancy” enough for her in the first place. Cabinet doors and drawers are hung. Stain and finish under way. We are going to be installing this later this week.
Features:
Select American Cherry veneers and hardwoods. (all quarter sawn, no rotary cut)
Radiused upper cabinet with radiused doors and radiused glazing
Full extension drawer slides for maximum access.
Cabinet trim details to match existing trim details in various portions of the house.
Cabinet doors fabricated to match existing kitchen cabinet door details.
Custom stain to match existing cabinetry.
Installed Thursday. Just waiting for the radiused glass and looking into some LED backlighting for behind the radiused doors. Enjoy.
Looks awesome
Update bump.
i hope more people appreciate this than just me!! wtf
Thanks. She looked like McCauley Culkin from Home Alone with her hands on her cheeks and wide eyed. She was pretty thrilled…which is what I was going for.
what and how do you like to stain? i’ve been working on this and i feel like i suck at it so far
Brush and rag, and practice. Each veneer and solid takes it differently. Sherwin Williams wiping stain. Magnalac ultra nasty satin finish lacquer. I have yet to find a finish to rival it in price, flash time, and finish quality.
