Arrow Enterprises-Official Introduction Post

As I’m sure you’ve all noticed, I got on board as a legitimate vendor. I’ve been on nyspeed for a couple years and hope any peripheral advice and information I’ve provided has been helpful, if not harmful. For the most part, I think nyspeed attracts a pretty level headed membership which is something I have enjoyed being a part of. I will do my best to give a brief blurb about me, my company, and what we’re all about.

We have been in business for approximately (8) years in the Western New York area. We are currently a small company with aspirations of slow and steady growth. Since our inception, we have tackled a wide variety of projects and feel that we have become very adept at numerous aspects of general residential construction and light commercial projects.

It has always been my goal to simply provide a quality product and generate happy customers. I have never promised to be the “cheapest guy around” but also don’t feel we are the most expensive choice. The best way to get a real feel about what we are capable of is to visit our website. I developed and maintain the site as often as time permits. It is by no means an encompassing representation of what we can and have done, but it gives most people an idea of what our capabilities are.

I also want to make a couple points clear to those who are considering contacting me for a potential project review or meeting. I do not charge for estimates and am willing to invest my time to work with serious customers on the design and layout of their project, including developing computer generated designs and detailed, descriptive proposals. I like to allow the customer to provide a basic framework of their goals and then provide helpful ideas, taking a number of factors into consideration, to work with them to design the project instead of designing what I like.

Bearing in mind that I do not charge for estimates, and that I tend to spend a great deal of time in the design and pricing stages, please do not use me for an “honesty” quote. What I mean by that is, please don’t ask me to quote a project just to make sure someone else (say a family member or best buddy) is already on board to do a project and you just want to make sure they’re not overcharging you for it. I make no money for design and estimating and that time tends to be time away from my family.

I know I try to post frequent current project updates, and many members have expressed interest, given praise or constructive criticism, and asked valuable questions. I’m always happy to answer questions to help educate people. One questions that I tend to shy away from is the “how much was that” or “can I get a ballpark number”? I keep certain information private and I would not divulge the financial aspects of another customer’s project any more than I would your own project. As I have told customer’s in the past, EVERY project is different and there are a great number of factors that determine the final cost. I cannot recall many instances where “ballpark” numbers have worked to further a legitimate project.

I have been in construction and construction related fields for 23 years and hold a degree in Architectural Technology, although I am not a licensed or registered architect. I have amassed a fair amount of knowledge in various disciplines and do not pretend to be an expert but instead, possess a well rounded knowledge base. Constant learning and investigating new products and processes have served us well to refine our finished product and result in a higher quality job for our customers.

Below is my basic contact information, all of which is available on the contact page of my website. If you think your project may be something we can work on with you, please get in touch. If I can’t help you, I’m always happy to offer direction or references to others that might be able to. Thanks for your past support and hope we can help to make a normally confusing and stressful process less so.

My sister is looking for a place in buffalo to buy I will be sure to give her your name for anything she may do in the future

All your work in your thread looks great
Keep it up and good luck

GTFO

This guy is good and I will be working with him in the near future. I can guarantee it.

I haven’t taken the time to make an introduction post, may I borrow yours and adapt it to my business? Lol
Nice work in the other thread!

 best of luck man, it’s a tough racket.

Looking good Andy.

Andy is a great guy and runs a great business. He is currently working on his 3rd project at my place. Everything he has ever done has been top notch. I have never had any issues on any level. Great work, fair prices, and no BS…would reccommend Arrow to anyone…

I’ve had Andy do a small project at my house, and I’ve worked with him in some other facets not related to his business per say. He’s someone that is concerned about getting the job done right the first time, and using materials and products that he has faith in. I’ve already discussed future needs at my house with Andy, and will definitely continue to use Arrow.

I look forward to working with you in the future…

So what do you “do”?

From the website:

Concrete and Block work

So entirely remodeling and planned expansions/upgrades or do you do repair work too? Major projects only or are you interested in little side-gig type work?

I’ve been watching your build threads and like what I see. (the positive reviews on here don’t hurt either.) As soon as I get out in front of the 8 ball I have quite a few projects to tackle and i’ll be contacting you

We do not shy away from smaller projects but I like to tell those interested that smaller projects would be on our schedule as “filler” projects. We have scheduling gaps from time to time due to customer changes, material availability, etc. Don’t think it would put you out 9-12 months though. I am willing to look at any work or repairs that might be needed and go from there. Please feel free to contact me.

Thanks to all those with kind comments. Your checks will be mailed tomorrow.

…and you thought I couldn’t be nice once in a while!

You’re my favorite Sicilian.

This may be a little premature (much like my sex life) but I’m going to put it out there to see what type of interest you guys have on something I’m in the process of taking on. I’m not quite ready to offer this as I have just a couple small hurdles to clear before I introduce this as a “legitimate” service. This is a small sampling of what the product is about.

http://www.flex-c-ment.com/index.htm

My interest in this product is based on a couple factors:

Flexibility: Can be used on almost any existing surface, or created as a “new” application.
Design: Each application is unique from colors, patterns, accents, etc. Virtually any design can be created and colors are almost limitless.
Interior and Exterior: Can be used on countertops (new and existing), floors, concrete, etc.

This product can be manipulated to coat over virtually any shape. It can also be used for faux exterior landscaping effects (rocks, waterfalls, etc.) My greatest interest is in the areas of countertops, showers, interior floors, and concrete (walks, driveways, patios, garage floors, basement floors, pools). It provides an alternative to removing existing concrete if the substrate is sound, but the visible surface is “tired” or needs a new look.

As a floor covering it is waterproof, durable, UV safe, and traction products can be added as a non-slip option. This offers another option to traditional concrete coatings of a solid color, or the simple “fleck” design in that you can design everything to suit your tastes.

Any comments, suggestions, or questions are encouraged. Again, I’m not completely up to speed on this but I’d like to hear your questions as a consumer or prospective customer.

Can this go over an existing concrete driveway? I might be interested in it if it is considerably cheaper than an new driveway. Might have a use for it in the backyard with the patio walls also. The 1 year warranty has me a bit worried though, doesn’t seem long enough to me.

I want to use this on my driveway as well. What I’m told thus far is that is is not a “cure all” for a cracked driveway. I have hairline cracks in mine, but no change in elevation so it will work to cover and seal those cracks. I want to prevent those cracks from getting worse and developing into a total loss. If you have huge lifting and gaps in the concrete, this will not solve that. Small gap cracks may become less visible, depending on the pattern you might choose. I am gong to find out more about the warranty and associated details. As with most products, warranties apply based on application. This is one of two products I am investigating, as they have different applications. Details will follow.

so this is an overlay and not actual real stuff? everything says “looks like real…” but it looks real lol. I guess i’d have to see it in person/being installed to really understand what it is.

Yes, it is not a solid concrete. It is designed to go over a substrate, or actual concrete if the application requires it. I can say that I might not be as interested in it as a “stone” veneer type of product…at least not yet. I was not overly impressed with the stone samples (depth and shape) I saw, but again, it’s based on how much time you want to put into developing your skills. On the floor covering and countertop side, I was more than impressed. Your investment in time to experiment with colors, patterns, accents, etc. determines how the final product turns out. If you were doing a countertop, you would apply a thin coat of the cement veneer and then apply color / pattern, and then sealant. I watched a brief demonstration and it was interesting how the tech. produced colors and patterns with relative ease.

ok yeah i understand now. So you trowel it on, a few in between prep steps, then stamp it, then all of their processes after. i watched a few youtube videos on it just now. Seems like a lot of work for the wall coverings. Almost way more work than actually laying stone Lol. I’ve never been around simulated stuff like this or done any concrete work so it’s really cool to see all the steps involved with this and how nice it looks afterwards.

it would be interesting to see how a counter top turned out vs the other alternatives. This is pretty much completely custom so you can make it whatever you want which is super cool rather than just “dealing with” a pattern or blemish in natural stone.

i wonder how long of a process it actually is?
