Looking for some reccomendations as to where some of you guys have purchased granite counters. Any good/bad feedback from local places? I have only briefly looked at Home Depot Lowes(my mom uses Buffalo Granite). Go ahead and post some you like!
Also anyone know someone local that cleans roof stains/moss? Roof is only 6yrs old and this happens to all the houses on the street because of the shade/trees.

We used Italian Marble and Granite for our marble counter tops at work. They did a great job and even helped up cut and move them when we rearranged the store a few years later.

Put a piece of metal on the peak of your roof, I heard zinc will prevent moss growth. Never actually tried it but…
I have always used either Sortie ( on Main near Transit), or Shannon in NT with good results.
Have been reading this. Talked to one roof cleaner business that said they will clean the roof and treat it with a solution with zinc and guarantee protection for 5yrs. The service is about $650.

Have read this too. Will prevent but not clean. You should try this after they clean it.
Never actually used either but heard good things about Buffalo Granite and Solid Surfaces in Rochester.

As for the roof the guy that is going to be doing the cleaning is going to be spraying a solution the prevents(no idea whats in it) and installing a zinc strip. It is a beautiful architectural roof that is only a few years old so I certainly want to nip this in the butt.
New kitchen pic. What clolor style do you think would look best. I love the floor and cabinets so they are not changing. I am interested in counter and backsplash.

I did a real tin backsplash at my current house and love it. I might get a black granite but I deff want something unique as well.
Definitely need to consider the floor and brick around range when picking counter/backsplash colors.
How about soapstone counter. Think it would match the floor.

Another +1 on Sortie. I know the owner Guy very well. They did the Parkwood counters when i had that house.
