pittsburgh is geographically fucked by the rivers when it comes to traffic. Things are congested from 5-7 and then its fine. no big deal. Oakland gets at little jacked up too but that cause there has to be lights every block so stupid students don’t walk out into traffic and kill themselves.
PHG traffic sucks because of two things.
first the geographic location makes it hard to have a bypass like most cities our size have.
Second people just can’t drive.
I travel the parkway everyday going to work. This past sunday I was going in I’m on the road at 6am and there is no one ever on the parkway that early. I was crusin down the right hand lane and I hit teh surilly tunnels next thing I know as soon as i get in I;m behind this asshole doing 20 mph litterally. By tie we got out he had traffic backed up in the tunnels to the point people were jumping lanes while in the tunnel including myself right at the end.
what is it with people and driving slow through the tunnels. I swear over in squirrel hill its like they look like giant ovens or some stupid shit to them…

well i live in Greenfield so i take the squirrel hill exit and the big problem is that the genius that designed it put the on ramp right before an off ramp. It would make sense to have the off ramp first to get more people off before more people get on.

Yeah I understand that cluster bang, I was mroe referring to the imbound traffic. its fucking rediculouse. ass soon as you get through the tunnels your flying again, yet it gets backed up all the way to penn hills by 7am…
oh i totally agree, inbound is rediculous it only takes a few people to jack up the whole thing.

dude u have no idea. West palm beach was rated THEE worst drivers in the country! I have so many storys its sad. My favorite though is the daily I-95 (10 lanes in wbp) all the sudden going from 85mph to 5mph in a split second…and this is when traffic is worse than rush hour in pittsburgh. All you see is a tital wave of brake lights and usually you can catch a glimpse of one of those little 5 car pill-ups :eek3:

x2 i seen that shit in person. had to get on the road for like 30 hour away thing. turn off to be 4 hours later
because of a rig that was jackknifed and a few other cars involved, then the slow lane was

i’m from NYC baisicly, and back when it was really bad, PGH is like disney land in comparison, theres no where really in pitt i’ve been to afraid to walk through at night, the crappiest part is probally east liberty, and thats pretty tame compared to newark or paterson.
newark is straight ghetto, but i really don’t see what is wrong with the city. traffic really isn’t that messed up. sure 28 sucks, but it still will only take u 15mins to get thru it. i dunno maybe i’m use to it now :dunno:

i garentee there are places in this city you wouldn’t walk if it was dark out. If you did then you’re just dumb. During gang banging it wasn’t safe to walk through my hood cause homewood crips were supposed to shoot a white kid from Greenfield to get in the gang. Thats not something you want to worry about when you are 12.
