HERE’S WHY.
THIS WEEK I HAVE TO REBUILD A MACHINE I DESIGNED IN INVENTOR. WHAT THIS ENTAILS IS CREATING ABOUT 600 PARTS FROM AN AUTOCAD DWG FILE THAT I HAD BEEN MAKING REVISIONS TO FOR ABOUT 6 WEEKS.
IT IS STANDARD COMPANY PROCEDURE TO CREATE THESE FILES WITH THE NAME IN ALL CAPS. WHEN I FORGET, AND CREATE THE FILE IN LOWERCASE, I HAVE TO EXIT INVENTOR, CHANGE THE FILE NAME, OPEN THE FILE PROPERTIES, EDIT THE SUBJECT OF THE IPROPERTIES, THEN OPEN MY DRAWING AGAIN IN INVENTOR. IN A DRAWING AS COMPLICATED AS THIS, SIMPLY OPENING AND CLOSING IT CAN TAKE 5 MINUTES ALONE. THIS WHOLE PROCESS TAKES ABOUT 15 MINUTES, HENCE, I DON’T TURN OFF CAPS LOCK, SO I DON’T FORGET TO TURN IT BACK ON.
I APOLOGIZE FOR THE SHOUTING.
