Audi, the new honda?

Kind of depends. Stock for stock I would say the 2.8-3.2L V6’s or the 4.2L V8.

Defintely not the 1.8T or 2.0T.

lol but they are the most popular and cheapest to fix!

.

read consumer reports’ take on audi/VW

they actually don’t recommend a single one from the past 10yrs as a used car, based on reliability & cost/freq of maintenance

i do like them - beautiful inside & out, awesome drivetrains - but there’s no way i’m gonna bust out that kind of cash for maintenance on a car that’s only worth $XXX (maint cost vs. value of vehicle)

You dont think any of those magazines are biased? Come on, pisses me of that the last 3 three 3 yrs EVERY SINGLE honda has been “RECOMMENDED” in consumer reports, ok honda is a great car but EVERY SINGLE ONE, somebody is getting paid off /of story.

Leather is disgusting.

the proof is in the cost of ownership.

ever owned one?

If you have to ask you can’t afford it.
You have higher status if costs don’t deter you from owning something.:biglaugh:

It’s like saying I wouldn’t want a yacht because the fuel is soooo expensive.

Maintenance this and maintenance that.

I’ve owned Audi’s for the last 7 years and have never had any major issue with any of them. I have a 01 and a 04 A4 right now and have done nothing in major repairs. People keep saying the 1.8t is unreliable yet it’s one of the best and most solid motors VAG has ever produced. The issues with those motors are with sludge, if you run regular oil over synthetic be prepared for problems… Coilpacks are another issue yet i’ve never had one go on me. Only thing that really ever went on me was the MAF in my B5 and that was my fault by not letting the K&N filter dry properly…

I had a 1990 Coupe that I had to throw a bunch of money into, but that car sat for over 7 years in a driveway so the fuel lines where all rotted and brakes and calipers where shot. After I got those issues taken car of it ran like a champ and I ended up selling it to a guy in Conn who to this day has had no issues with it…

Buy an Audi with low miles and perform all the regular maintenance and you will be fine… Buy a high mileage Audi that has no maintenance history and then you can be like most on here and bitch about how bad they suck…

Going to get on my flame suit now…

my audi has a 100k bumper to bumper warranty with road side asst.

why was this thread even made? im the only one that went from a honda to a audi that you know of.

<3
I went Vw->honda->audi->honda->Audi.

And I had best luck with my dubs

Actually you went from Honda, STI and down graded to a Audi:awdrifter:

HAHA you SOB

STI >Audi (but your Audi is still nice, but I miss your STI)

I dont see audi being the new honda for one reason.
I’ve yett to see an audi thats on the road, runs and drives, for less than 400$

Sounds like you know your Audi’s… I’m going to have to shoot ya a PM, were having some issues with a 1990 A90 that we bought and have been “working on” for 3 years now lol

Bought mine for $200. When it died (after I sold it) it had 300k+ miles on it.

Really!!! This sat for 7 years in a driveway in cheektavegas… I found it just in time, the owner was going to have it junked… Did the timing belt and drove it to NYC a week later and then back to Buffalo… Still pissed I sold this car…

Find me a Honda or any jap car that sat outside in Buffalo for 7 years. You wont because it would be a big rusted pile… Not saying they are not reliable but the bodies are garbage…

regardless of the experiences of the people on this board, Audi’s are known to have some of the highest cost of ownership for any mass prodiced car out there.

they’re better cars than Mercedes though…lol

It’s worth it though!

heh

slow your roll, man. just my .02. if you truly believe you’re correct, i don’t think i’d get to you in the first place.

It comes down to all the typical maintenance of the car. Seems like everyone who has had a negative experience on here with any Audi/VW has bought a high mileage pos…

I had a 01 Maxima that I bought from West Herr back in Sept of this year… I hated the car to no end… Sorry but Japanese cars just don’t have the feel of a Euro… I traded it in on my B6 A4 at a loss and still feel it was the best choice I’ve ever made…
