Looking to get a car shipped from San Antonio TX to Lancaster NY. Anyone have any company they could refer me to with good rates? (Its a parts car that runs, so the cheaper the better).
Pick up and delivery is flexible.

If i had to guess, there is no way you’ll get this shipped for less than 600-700
Ok, so I just did this going the other way (Lockport to Central Texas).
Had a 2010 Rav4 shipped down here.
Montway did the shipping it was $1200 fully insured. Took about a week.
About 7 or 8 years ago I had a Thunderbird shipped from Hutto Texas (Central Texas) up to Buffalo, that was around $700-$800.
Montway was a broker they brokered it out to a dude with a diesel heavy duty pickup and 5 vehicles on it. No problems either time.
Be careful there are a lot of shady companies out there.
We toyed with the idea of me flying home to NY then driving it back, but it is a 24 hour drive, and I didn’t want to burn vacation time making that drive. Plus you figure gas and a couple hotel rooms, and food. Probably $500-$600 to do it yourself.
I have a listing on Uship, and montaway is a current bidder on it.
I am getting this “parts car” for free, so the cheaper the shipping cost the better off I am! lol. In all seriousness $600-650 is my max. I’ll try and call the # thanks for the heads up on the local guys.
A dollar per mile is what’s realistic. $650 would be shipping at a loss.
I have 4 bids on it under $750 so far. Its 1160 miles.
gas is incredibly cheap right now, so thats probably helping
I never thought about that. Good call lol
FWIW, I got my Coupe Quattro here from Ft. Collins, CO (over 1500 miles) for $750 a month or so ago.
I also used Uship, saw some Montway bids, then I just contacted them directly.
When you contacted directly did you find the price slightly cheaper?
Significantly. Usually, on uship, the bids drop gradually over the course of about 4 days, and then kinda stall. Last Montway bid on there was 950. I just asked them if we could agree to 750, as long as I could have the car within 3 weeks, and they were fine with that.
Cool! I ended up getting this done for $650 door to door. just had to wait for the right shipper to come along.
I think a big thing that helps is giving them time to schedule delivery. A lot of people don’t realize the logistics of organizing shipping of multiple car to multiple places. sometimes you have to wait a couple weeks for the cards to line up.
