you drive a rwd automatic? you just punch it, what skills are do you apply to get off the line?
haha that is right. no driver skill needed…
lol that’s what i was trying to say without being a dick
:crackup :crackup
if its so easy, then why doesnt everyone race from a dig?
I dunno how easy it is in your car, but from a dig when my tires start spinning and my rear end starts walking around on me, it gets a little scary lol
same here, and thats what makes it difficult, i would think its easier to roll race then to dig race, maybe im an idiot
HAHAHAH two auto maros talking about how it’s difficult to drag from a dig in an auto tranny… HAHAHA
I love this forum
im really not trying to be a dick, but rwd cars typically dont have to deal with traction as much since they can accomodate very wide tires, and then on top of that you dont have to worry about shifting as it is an automatic, that doesnt leave much to do really.
try driving a fwd car with pizza cutter front tires, and some decent power, and with a manual gearbox. whole different ballgame.
well i know why fwd owners dont particularly like racing from a dig is the fact that they are stuck 205-215 tires vs 275+ series tires. its not always a lack of skill that keeps a fwd car from getting out of the hole its the tire limitations.
all im trying to say is that, roll races take no skill whatsoever, all you do is step on the gas and go, how is roll racing harder than dig racing?
you guys are missing my point, im not arguing that its hard for an automatic or a manual, my point is in general it is harder to race from a dig then a manual, you actually have to have some skill to do, in whatever car your driving. When you go to lebannon valley they dont let you roll before you go off the track
so your point is that in roll racing all we do is step on the gas and go.
my point is that in any racing all you do is step on the gas and go, so of course for you its no different.
rwd cars with traction issues are a different story, but you guys often have solutions to that such as wider/taller wheels and tires.
:wtf if i were to just step on the gas i would end up in a guard rail
its hard to roll race with a auto when your tranny doesnt wanna shift :headbang :headbang
first off who is we? because i roll race too, can i ask you a question so we can end this real quick? is it more difficult for you to roll race or to dig race?
of course its more difficult to dig race, you have to get off the line and roll race as well. never said it wasnt. my point was that roll racing and dig racing isnt much of a difference for a rwd automatic, there are a lot of variable that you have eliminated in that equation which is a good thing in your benefit.
the real question seems to be “is it more difficult to roll race a manual gearbox, or dig race an automatic?” thats not something you can directly compare.
the problem was that you insinuated that you prefer to dig race because you have a ton of skill, im not saying you dont, but with having a rwd automatic you also have a lot more than skill working in your favor.
its harder for me to dig race then roll race as well, never once did i argue if its harder for a manual, or fwd. That was never my point, my point was that dig racing takes more skill then roll racing. I think you just took what im saying the wrong way. Yeah it is easier for my car to dig race then roll race, but even if i was a 6 speed i would still want to race from a dig, i just look at that as an actually race, nothing to do with what car you drive
I Farted :wow
Paul you can’t even ask mike which is harder, because he can get no traction at 100mph so what makes you think a dig is any better, you get traction in your Camaro before my civic even thinks about getting traction…and i have rather big tires (225’s). Also, you said what do we do at Lebanon Valley? Use real slicks that you don’t drive on the street with. :confused
who needs slicks? :banana
