rumor has it the shop that he bought the wheels from gave him lug nuts or bolts that were the wrong pitch. Why you would run if you only got like one full revolution on them when putting the wheels on, I don’t know. Seems common sense didn’t prevail.
Well that sucks. Its not like just one lug nut came off… thats some serious damage. Wheel studs, fenders, and rear bumpers, rotors, and bent suspension/ exhaust. He might even have a dented oil pan too.
At least the paint was already faded so the body work’s not that big of a deal!

who doesn’t check, then re-check all that stuff before every run anyway? Never can be too safe, even if it is just for the safety of other participants at the course.
I’m assuming he put them on at the track as they look like some dot compliant r-comp like Hoosier A6 or Kumho victoracer/v700.
