lol, next year we are all going to have those tires probably
Not me. When I don’t run any better with them, I don’t wanna get laughed at, lol.
The azenis are a good tire to work with, really. It’s definitely better than a ‘nice’ summer tire, and a little more ‘forgiving’ that a set of r-comps. Oh yeah, and they’re definitely cheaper than a set of r-compounds. Personally, there have been autox’s where I would have loved to run a set of azenis on my car instead of the v710’s.
If nothing else, most people will tell you that if you’re just starting out in autox, do not get a set of r-comps. Basically, you get better at handling the car with a set of mediocre tires, then when you’re able to push the limits with those; you’ll be able to use/appreciate how much more the r-comps are actually capable of. Eh, it’s the whole smooth=fast idea.
I’ve been trying to tell Cliff that forever now.
These are my 3 fastest times from the 21st…I had a 1:20.XXX on the 20th but remember what it was.
1:20.104
1:20.685

I placed 1st in 3 out of the 4 events in my class…beating out Cliff’s H22 Civic and Jesse’s nasty modded Spec-v. Got 3 cheesy trophies…so I’m happy with my results for just a 130hp Civic. :banana
Oh no, I’ve agreed with you about the r-compounds. At first it was a badass idea until it was put into perspective.
