I was wondering if you guys knew where I can look up autocross events in the area. I’ve participated in one in Saratago once and spectated also in Saratoga, both times I just happened to be there at the right time, and the right place.
Schedule for scca isn’t out yet last I knew. And the trivette club will be hosting an event in Edinburgh just e 4th and 5th
Check the local SCCA chapter’s website, Mohawk-Hudson region:
There’s usually postings on here as well for season schedules.
I was hoping that if I ever got this GSXR1K buggy built I could throw some tarmac tires on it and smack some cones with you guys. Is there an OPEN class I could enter in or something?!
There are the Mod classes, which are split up by weight, and you can run anything that fits within their ruleset and passes tech inspection… check out section 18.4, ‘Specials’ for details.

Also, the Edinburg event that Cliff mentioned above is an excellent venue to go to- not too small, decent speeds and come on- it’s a kart track. Can’t get much better than that for autocross. It’s a little on the bumpy side though for any cars that have stiff suspension already though, good thing to keep in mind…
Sweet I am reviewing the rules now.
Bumps wont be an issue with this machine… I am designing it with 20" of travel! But I can stiffen up the air shocks and lower it right down for AX stuff.
People run formula fords and go karts, you can pretty much run anything with more than 2 wheels and pass tech.
Enjoy!
yeah It looks like I am Mod Class A. I gotta get bending some tube now it seems!
We host a Autocross in psi2highs front lawn every year.
I will put the knobbies on for that event!
