AutoX events in 2006

:stupid:

Yea I mean locally not that many people trailer to autoxs I was reffering to people outta town. However I know exactly what you mean about the road racing guys. Last year while at a Thursday night event before SCCA’s big weekend they had, some really big ass teams/shops were arriving that night. Phoenix motorsports (if you’ve ever watched SCCA runoffs you’ve probaly seen their black & yellow cars) rolled in with 3 trailers. They told us two C5 ZO6 vettes were in one trailer, a second was hauling a C5 that was a customer car but preped by them, and the third apperently had their new C6 vette that was just built. We told them it was ok to laugh at us for autocrossing because after seeing their setup it really put things in perspective lol. But they were really cool people, came over and talked with alot of us and watched the autox for awhile.

i wonder how well the coablt would do at auto x ive never ran it before and i dont have a hemlet either so i guess i wont find out

Hasn’t really been around long enough to do much on a national level. Locally if the setup was right i’m sure it wouldn’t be to bad. BTW if you run with SCCA they have loaner helmets. I dunno if NHSCC still has them or not.

No, NHSCC does not have loaners anymore. We had a bunch of them that we used to give out at one time but they all got stolen so we don’t furnish helmets anymore.

Anyway, if you’re looking to get into autocrossing or lapping days a good helmet is the first thing that you need to buy (before tires, before brake pads, before any go fast parts) so why not do it right off the bat?

I want to try both my Subies at North Park this year. Should be fun!

woot, someone else I know that will autoX!

btw, here’s a shot of my buddy chris’s wagon!

the black wagon of doom as we affectionately call it, we’re going to try to squeeze 255’s on it this year!

^^^That is an awesome pic! Gotta love the lifted rear wheel!

any update on the nhscc auto-x schedule? I checked the website, but it looks like they only have meetings scheduled.

They have the dates from my understanding, aside from like 1 or 2 events they are still trying to tack down. Just hasn’t been posted yet, hopefully soon.

The Cobalt does AWESOME at auto-x, I ran mine at BeaveRun this year once (short on money). I don’t know if the 2.4 would do as well on the stock tires, but it’s still a fun car and way more fun than my Cavalier was.

well how much is the cheapest run at beaver, i didnt go cuz i thought it cost like 130 bux for the day or something like that

$35 each day for non-SCCA members. The $130 is more along the lines of a track day on the road course.
