I was in a parking lot a couple months back and a ****er hit my car and drove off. Similar to your hit but a little smaller. I have a thread with pictures on here.
Anyway, the fender repair was extremely easy. I used a hammer and dolly to get the dent out and to an acceptable shape, then I bondo’d it smooth with a factory like contour. What really killed me was paint. The 240 is different, but if you look at the 300, the back part under the taillight does not have any breaks so there are no opportunities to fade it. The only way to make a seamless repair is to paint the whole back half. The 240 however, has a break. If you don’t get it fixed up by the next time I see you then I’ll show you. There is that one body line in your car that’s difficult, but a competent body shop can get that going no problems. I offered to repair the back left quarter panel of my friends Hyundai Scoupe after a truck t-boned him. There was a similar line and I fixed that up with no problems. I’m far from an experienced body work guy.
That sucks that your car got damaged. But does milking family for car repairs seem right ? He did do you a favour by picking you up from the shop to take you home. Of course I would expect him to fix it. But milk him I dont know he is family and he was helping you.
Steve
Of course i’m not actually going to milk him. It was merely a joke, i dont even intend on taking it to a body shop anymore other than to fix what was originally going to be fixed which was the rust.
I’m actually at my uncle’s house right now, so i’ll take some pictures of the damage to the crv after i finish being his computer jockey. He went nuts on boxing day and blew a shitload of money on computers.
I’m going to take off the rear bumper, sand it and then try and bang out as much as possible and just paint over it. I’ll just go around telling girls that its a drifting battle scar.
Cars look bigger in garages. My 300 looks like an SUV in person in my garage. Don’t get me started on my 200, which with the body kit, fat rear end and wide rear wheels is actually as wide as a large SUV.
weaksauce… lol its not mine, though i wish it was. i actualyl dont have pics of it. I’ll have to take some come springtime. He doesnt drive it much anyways.
