Okay so at around 1120ish this morning i decided to take the Ayu(mycar) to my mechanics to have some shit looked at. So i called my uncle to meet up with me so he could give me a ride home. Anyways I met up with my uncle at the sunoco at bayview and high-tech and we headed off.
The snow and slush was terrible, ayu has a ****ed up ABS system that makes alot of noise but doesnt work, bald all-seasons in the front and worn ones in the back. Even driving in the straight line was difficult unless i kept it to sub 50 km. And from a stop, my car would fishtail into curbs if in the right lane where the snow builds up.
So going south on bayview right before the 407 intersection i began slowing down about 8-10 car lengths from the light cause it was turning yellow. trying to manage with the gAyBS i pulled to a stop just with my nose over the line. My uncle who was in a brand new CRV with AWD and winters kept 5 lengths back and for some reason couldnt stop, at the last moment he tried to get in the left lane but lost the ass and went corner to corner with my car.
Ayumi successfully ate that Honda, a good chunk the size of a head is completely gone from the CRV where the bumper joins the fender. My car has a dent on the very top corner of the fender about 3 inches wide and half an inch to an inch deep and some black scars on the bumper and fender around the taillights.
Anyways the rest of the trip was uneventful. How a 92 s13 with stock brakes and all seasons was able to pull up to a stop faster than a new CRV with ABS and winter tires is still boggling my mind.
The tires on the car mean alot more than the fact that it’s AWD or not. Actually, I would think AWD would be worse off for stopping a car, but that’s just my speculation and not fact. How are the tires on the CRV?
What’s gonna happen with the repair now that it’s your uncle and all?
Brand new car, brand new winters… dunno how that shit happened. Told my mom she’s bitching at her brother. Its all good he’s well-off so he’ll probably pay to fix +more.
its very common, happened to my cousin, too, it turns out that winter tires are excellent on heavy or decent amount of snow, but on wet roads and dry surfaces they are dangerous, people think just because they have deeper studs they will grip better, but thats not true, it is known fact for best road grip the tire has to be 100% in contact with the road surface, and the more it has longer studs and cuts the more it requires a muddy slushy or snowy surface to balance the full contact effect wit extra grip.
Rawr, my parents were quite entertained. They told me they’re going to handl this and milk my uncle for all he’s worth. He went home and got bitched at by my aunt cousins too. If he had hit me square in the ass he wouldve pushed me into the lane of the cars turning left off the highway.
haha matt n his sk2 was just f**ked up haha
but cal that sucks…
but i must say this morning the roads were terrible… regardless how that crv didnt stop still puzzles me also…
but eh i also had quiet the entertianing night… or should i say morning…
WRITE OFF!!!
hahaha j/k. If the insurance company sees that they probably would though.
I’ve heard horror stories of insurance companies writing off cars like mine after a breakin with just a broken window and a stolen stereo.
I was just telling Vlad that when i went to grab some teardrops today. He told me to fill it with bondo but i jsut told him i’d leave it and pick up chicks with “yea, go it while was pulling some ILLEGAL STREETDRIFTING”
That’s a very hard area to fix. Cloudzero of son240 got the same thing when he was rear ended by a taxi driver. Body shop couldn’t get a perfect shape on it due to the OEM fold and stupid thick metal. Couldn’t even get it perfect with bondo.
Yea i was expecting as much. the CRV got rocked, my car didnt even move from the spot it was on, the honda just kind of bounced off me since it was made of plastic.
Well, i just talked with my uncle, and i’m just going to try and find some quotes from some good body shops.
