I have the 2.7T V6 in mine
I’ve owned a 98.5 2.8 30v with Quattro for 5 years now. Purchased at 70k (now 160k), it had been sitting for ~6 months so it was expensive for the first few months, but nothing vehicle specific, just general maintenance. Since then I’ve averaged around $400-$500 in yearly maintenance. Parts are expensive but as long as you’re not getting work done at the dealership it’s not especially pricey to maintain.
I love everything about it as a DD. Mine is equipped with the all weather (heated seats, mirrors etc.) and feels well equipped considering it’s over a decade old now. It has been nothing but good to me and super reliable with regular maintenance. Absolutely second to none in the snow, the only problem I’ve ever had in the snow is 6+ inches unplowed it tends to plow a bit.
So if you could find anything under 100k for a good price, I’d call it a good investment for a DD especially in the winter. Good luck to you.
