So I am watching this “Bait Car” show on truTV. How is it legal? Not the fact of someone stealing the car, but the act the Police put on to entice someone to do so? They pretend to arrest someone with drugs or whatever, and haul them off, so it looks like the car is abandoned. Isnt that entrapment in a way?
Well just because a car is left somewhere doesnt mean its ok to steal it.
Cops do alot of entrapment type things to get people.
no, entrapment is encouraging a crime to take place in the absolute literal sense. For an example: “Hi random person, I am looking for some crack, can I hire you to find some for me?”
Not entrapment: “oh hello… yes I do have crack I can sell you for $50… thanks, you’re now under arrest”
Asking/telling someone to commit a crime is entrapment.
Passively allowing them to commit a crime is not.
I know its not okay to steal a car… well you know what I was trying to say. But yea Mike, that makes sense. I love how the car is almost always a Honda :lol
They always use Escalades on that show. I love it when they shut it down and the thieves can’t get out. It kinda reminds me of To Catch a Predator in a way.
A PD in Vancouver, BC started this bait car thing. I guess now more PD’s are doing it.
i think its great and hilarious…
great show.
Love the one where he/she is praying to jesus the whole time. :rofl
Totally legal, just like prostitution/underage cig stings are!
Why dont you have a seat over there…
There was one I saw with a dude that just did a shit-ton of
Crystal-Meth. and stole a car. When the car pulled to the side of the
road and all the doors locked him in he began tearing panels/anything
he could get his hands on and throwing them about within the car.
Funniest stuff ever.
