Bass Pro is a go

Sweet. We paid a store to bring in another way for a poor city to spend its own money. Now I can’t wait for the casino to go up to further that cause. At least an old abandoned building still sits empty.

Maybe I’m just being cynical. The tourists are sure to come flocking with an influx of money to go to a store! :bloated:

Bass Pro is like a mini Disney world for some people. They even have an aquarium where you can go fishing!

I’m there opening day :tspry:

not to mention its being done by benderson. aarrrghhhi hate them

annnddd we’re paying $25 mil. FUCK

I think Bass Pro is worthless…Unless it starts off a trend of more development downtown.

benderson is a dick. he stole my towel from the jcc when i showered there once. swear to god. so i confronted him and he said:

“Dont you know who i am?”

“Yea the old geezer that stole my towel!”

I was asked not to come back. lol.

ONTOPIC:

I am also really tired of hearing about gaybasspro, but the aquarium sounds cool… even though it’s going to be on the … waterfront… lol

some = less than 15% of the population. If i want to go to a sports store i can think of several within a few miles. Gander Mountain, EMS, Dicks,…etc…

What does Bass Pro have to offer over the other sports store besides an indoor fishing aquarium?

The ONLY reason i’d be for Bass Pro…is if it prevents having to rip down the old Memorial AUD.

meh buffalo … meh. hope it does well.

In addition to construction of a Bass Pro store, designed to resemble a circa 1800s commercial building

because we dont have enough old crappy buildings around here that we need to make the new ones look old and outdated :bloated:

wtf??? $25 mil for a fucking fishing store? what the hell is so special about it? and how much revenue can a fucking bass pro shop possibly generate to justify that kinda building price…

Basspro is fucking awsome. Everytime I am down in Florida I make it to Basspro and spend hours there. People will come from other cities to go to Basspro.

:word:

:bloated: Have you ever been to a Bass Pro?

There is a lot of assumptions being made, and no facts

It offers a lot more just lures and a fishing aquarium.

hopefully the construction is all local.Thats a big place.

i was at one is Charlotte…it was amazing…and I dont like hunting and shit…ti wa packed with people

yes, boats, camping equipment, miscellaneous sporting goods and clothing. They are no longer getting a huge flagship store its going to be small now, like gander mountain with a fish tank. The origional plan was to have hotel rooms and an actual attraction, this is not going to even come close to living up to that.

When i went to one near myrtle beach it was packed.Lots of …everything

i will go.

Hopefully it brings the benefits that have been discussed for the past decade and we didnt miss the boat by dragging our feet.

At the very least it is a step in the right direction with knocking down an outdated non useful building. Hopefully the “historical fanatics” dont stop that from happening. It is good to see something NEW going up in the CITY. At the very least all 285,000 buffalo residents might visit it one time and grab dinner at a city restaurant  Promoting the city just a little bit at a time for all of us suburbanites might start something great.

I think next on the list should be a full remodel to the interior/exterior of the Convention Center

Despite the cynics…buffalo is on the move…its not going to happen overnite but FINALLY something is starting to go forward.

Agree some what about it being worthless, unless it can really spark some kind of re-interest in development. Besides it could be good for clubs like southtowns walleye and whatnot to have something so major here. This might equal tournaments landing here and a renewed interest in fishing the lake. But we all have heard some similar things before ill beleive it when i see ground broken for it.

they should just put this in the suburbs so people dont get mugged
