Sweet. We paid a store to bring in another way for a poor city to spend its own money. Now I can’t wait for the casino to go up to further that cause. At least an old abandoned building still sits empty.
Maybe I’m just being cynical. The tourists are sure to come flocking with an influx of money to go to a store! :bloated:
wtf??? $25 mil for a fucking fishing store? what the hell is so special about it? and how much revenue can a fucking bass pro shop possibly generate to justify that kinda building price…
Basspro is fucking awsome. Everytime I am down in Florida I make it to Basspro and spend hours there. People will come from other cities to go to Basspro.
There is a lot of assumptions being made, and no facts
It offers a lot more just lures and a fishing aquarium.

yes, boats, camping equipment, miscellaneous sporting goods and clothing. They are no longer getting a huge flagship store its going to be small now, like gander mountain with a fish tank. The origional plan was to have hotel rooms and an actual attraction, this is not going to even come close to living up to that.
Hopefully it brings the benefits that have been discussed for the past decade and we didnt miss the boat by dragging our feet.
At the very least it is a step in the right direction with knocking down an outdated non useful building. Hopefully the “historical fanatics” dont stop that from happening. It is good to see something NEW going up in the CITY. At the very least all 285,000 buffalo residents might visit it one time and grab dinner at a city restaurant Promoting the city just a little bit at a time for all of us suburbanites might start something great.
I think next on the list should be a full remodel to the interior/exterior of the Convention Center
Despite the cynics…buffalo is on the move…its not going to happen overnite but FINALLY something is starting to go forward.
I think Bass Pro is worthless…Unless it starts off a trend of more development downtown.

Agree some what about it being worthless, unless it can really spark some kind of re-interest in development. Besides it could be good for clubs like southtowns walleye and whatnot to have something so major here. This might equal tournaments landing here and a renewed interest in fishing the lake. But we all have heard some similar things before ill beleive it when i see ground broken for it.
