Battery question

Bought a new battery for the motorcycle but it won’t crank the bike. The charger shows it is fully charged and the voltage reading is good. If the battery is bad, can the voltage still be correct, but not be putting out enough amps to crank the bike?

how long did u charge!!!

could it be something other than the battery jeff?

the way you checked it was just by placing on the battery charger, not charging it. correct?

It was supposed to come fully charged, and I charged it for about 4 hours total. My meter shows about 13 volts - they said it should be around 12.6. If I leave the charger on, then I can get the bike to start. It’s like the battery doesn’t have enough amps.

engineer of what again:confused:

sorry, jeff its not the battery. The motor is dead and the transmission is toast.

I’ll take it off you hands for $500, just to be a nice guy.

It’s a sealed battery.

Did you try to use a screw driver to jump the sellanoid?

if the battery ran down then it collasped. if it will start on the charger then you need to replace the battery. check to make sure you have the battery hooked up correctly. if not hooked up correctly it wont turn over also. if you some how tipped over that F4I it wont start. it has atip overswitch behind hte headlights. ifyou need me to look at it. ill help out. i completely redid everything on my bike. so i should be able to help out with your problem

It’s just like I thought. The battery is no good so they’re sending me a new one under warranty (since it’s like 2 weeks old and never used!)
