Before long, NJ will be making fun of us...

Anyone read this article in the Buffalo News?

An underground container that holds about half of the world’s supply of radium may be leaking into groundwater in northwestern Niagara County, an advisory group to federal regulators warns.

well thats just wonderful.

Well… If the river flowed that way, that would explain why people from NF are the way they are.

This is all just part of a plan, to keep poor people smoking Smokin Joe’s and Seneca cigs that are grown there, and speed up Darwin.

I just love the, “Well, we can’t open it up to check, because that shit’s dangerous” response. So trusting your computer model that says it shouldn’t be leaking is ok with something so dangerous you can’t look inside? That’s an answer only good enough for government work.

One good thing that came of me knowing about this was this on the related stories:
NIAGARA FALLS—An Indiana man, apparently upset over being charged $5 to park at a downtown lot, intentionally hit a parking attendant with his car and then fled the scene Saturday morning, police said.

State police caught up to Daniel S. Holt, 47, as he drove on the I-190 on Grand Island around 10 a. m. He was returned to the scene, where a witness identified him as the culprit. Holt was charged with second-degree assault, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Police said the attendant, 52-year-old Michael Halbig of Niagara Falls, tried to collect the $5 fee from Holt as he left a lot at First and Niagara streets around 9:45 a. m. Holt argued and shoved Halbig, then intentionally hit him with his car as Halbig stood in front of Holt’s vehicle as he tried to exit onto Niagara Street.

Police said Halbig flipped over the hood of Holt’s car, suffering unspecified injuries in the process. He was treated in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Of course it was in Niagara Falls. Of course.

Just dig it up and move it to Yucca Mountain… Oh wait, that’s right… that’s “no longer an option” :ham:

Until we can find a place to store high level radioactive waste in the US (Hell, on the PLANET for that matter) they’re not going to move it or dig it up even to check. It’s that dangerous and the legal, environmental & government hurtles to do so are almost as much hell as getting radiation poisoning, lol.

ummm, wow. Not good.

I think we should make a deal with Africa where we forgive all of their billions of dollars of debts in return for being able to dump as much nuclear waste as we want there. Their regional warlords would be dumb enough to agree to it. We could build so many nuclear power plants that we wouldn’t need much oil. If worst comes to worst, quarantine the continent. Would you miss it?

Heh… good plan except for one major problem… do you really want to put something terrorists would die to get their hands on in place where even map makers can’t keep up with the changing countries and borders?

Sure we do, they’ll kill themselves off trying to extract it improperly or carrying it out in backpacks.

Love this show

Well theres never a dull moment in Niagara Falls.

Listened to it on the ride home from work on SnR and even stayed in car until segment was done… all I could say was seriously WTF… fucking goverment morons… I think it is terrifying that is due west of Lewiston-Porter Schools…

Not to mention it is not a “container” it is a fucking basement from a old government facility from the Manhattan Project

I haven’t heard of this place but knew the Manhattan project was somehow related to the area.

Google maps of the place anyone?

Any updates on this BS?

This would explain a lot.
