Bent Rim - Pictures inside

So today was a bad day.
I drove over a curb. Long story, but my front left rim is bent.
It’s an aluminum rim and I’m surprised that it bent and didn’t crack entirely.
So I’m looking for a place to straighten the Rim as quickly as possible.
Fortunately big quotations there I was leaving a Canadian Tire parking lot, and they took off the rim and showed me right there on the spot where the bend was. They also told me of a guy that I can take this rim to and he will send it out to Quebec to get it fixed in about 2 weeks.
Thing is that I need this done a lot faster. I remember that a place called Carcones, north of Stouffville, can also fix it, but I’m not sure what you guys think of this.
Take a look of the rims below and tell me what you think.

I’ve heard really good things about Carcones from f-body guys. The Canadian Tire place that they send it to in Quebec sounds like a bulk refinisher. I’d personally send mine to somewhere local.

Wheelfix seems to be the overall favorite in the GTA.
Cross-referencing from a local BMW club, they’re the favorite over there too.

Give em a shot!

RWR, taunton and townline in Ohsawa, they do good work and are quick, probably little outta the way for you tho

just take a hammer to it, damage is not that bad cant even see it unless the wheel is off

Thanks for all the options and info guys.

In this case putting a hammer to it won’t do any more than creating more damage. It’s an aluminum rim and will probably only crack. The bead seat is unusable.

if it’s a cast wheel then it’s very fixable… depending on what they need to do to it , it may need to be re heat treated… If it’s a forged wheel then you may be out of luck… forging and a bend like that leads to a whole swath of micro fractures all along the rim, not just the damage locale…

I’m not sure but it is probably cast.
Forged wheels aren’t as common, right? The previous owner of my car bought these rims. I’ve honestly never liked them from the start, but it’s better than stock.

Isn’t there usually a way to determine if it’s cast or forged?

weight is one way, forged are allot lighter … clean the area around the the bend… look for tiny surface cracks… if they are all lined up then it’s a 90% that it’s a forged wheel… failing that , what’s the brand of wheel ?

It’s an OZ Racing Rim. I don’t remember seeing any cracks but I will probably be doing so now. Even then, if it were a forged Rim, then can’t the company that repairs it straighten the rim, weld the cracks and balance the rim?

Do you have any contact information for these guys?
I tried looking them up but I can’t find anything. It is a little far but if it means getting it done today then I’ll go.

OZ, for the most part is a cast/heat treated rim, so no worries, just remember to re heat treat it after the work is done… You can’t repair a forged wheel due to the way the molecular structure is created/aligned during forging process… to try and repair it means that you are changing the base molecular structure of that area and the surrounding area… and you can’t fix that.

Well, bad luck with wheelfix.ca. They are moving to a new larger facility and are closed until January.
I went to Carcones hoping that they could fix it. They put the car on a balancer and saw that the rim is a shape of an Egg, so they couldn’t do anything.
I ended up taking the place to the same company Canadian Tire recommended me to last night. The company is Skyline…something They looked at the rim with severe doubt and said they will call me with an exact price tonight. If it’s a goahead they’ll ship it out and TRY.
More bad news, after I dropped off the rim and got home, I went outside the car and did my regular check to make sure I didn’t drop anything. While looking around I noticed on the car that the hood was sticking up on the drivers side. A little further down the paint had flaked. The hood was rubbing against the fender. There is a stress dent towards the headlights. The back where the window post meets has a small crease. I turned on my headlights ASAP and noticed that it was a tiny bit higher.
Now I’m pissed. I would take some pictures but right now I’m having a hard time cooling off.

Anyway, I’m looking to replace my rims entirely. Following that will be a TwinT urbo swap and a realignment/repaint of the fender. There’s a place in Scarborough that has a TT front clip but they have a bad BBB report. I’m looking elsewhere for a clip.

Anyone have any ideas for a deep dish chrome package. Not too expensive. Probably used. 10.5 rear, 8.5 front. I have the tires.
Something like a chrome lip and gold centre or aluminum honeycomb centre.
I guess I can wait now to get the rims. I was thinking ebay but of course that quality is shit.

what size are yours?
what do you want for em?
gimme the bent one too though.

What I have right now are 18x9.5" on the front and 19x10.5" on the rear.
Got the set with tires for a pretty good deal.

Hard to believe but this place called Skyline shop or something at Hwy 27 and Hwy 7 said they would give me $500 off the purchase of any of their rims if I gave them the bent ones. I would’ve bought there but their prices are sky high. I took the same offer to Rent-n-Roll, Carcones and Metro Auto Parts in Markham. They all said they won’t buy it back from me, but if I tried I can probably get $500 for them.
They all said they’re lightweight OZ blah blah blah… After I bought my rims I figured I might hang on to the rear two so I can try my hand at drifting on a track.
So, right now I’ll prolly hang on to them. I’ll let you know if things change though. Thanks for the offer
